*This post is part of the November promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*
Good morning, thanks for all the kind comments you've been leaving on the blog. the promotion runs until Sunday, so keep them coming.
Here's my card for today.............
I made the background with Brights Inkadinks from Imagination Crafts. Inkadinks are little bottles of waterbased pigment inks. The colours are very rich & a little goes a very long way. You can use them the same as you would use Distress or Adirondack inks for example. You can mix them together to get different colours & they will work on virtually all sorts of paper, card etc.
NB: the link on the website to the Inkadinks is not working at present. We'll get that fixed today.
I put drops of Cherry Pie, Mango & Lilac Heaven onto my craft sheet & mixed each with a little water. Then I laid a piece of watercolour card on top, moving it around slightly. I dried the card & laid it into the colours again, then dried. I think I did this about three-four times in total.
Once I was happy, I mixed Silver Satin Silkies with water in a spray bottle & spritzed it over the card. The Inkadinks react with the water & paint & the result is lots of shimmery splatters........
Handy hint; add the paint to the water, rather than the other way round, the paint will mix more readily.
I then set the card aside to dry naturally & when it had, I stamped the trees from the
Woodware Clear Magic 'Forest' set with Weathered Wood distress ink - I knew that the DI would soak into the watercolour card as it dried, leaving only a faint image.................
I dried the card again, then stamped the trees with embossing ink on top of the Weathered Wood trees & heat set with WOW Gold embossing powder................
I finished the card with adhesive gems, pearls & ribbon, matting & layering onto ribbed kraft card & black card, then onto a 6x6 card blank.
Thanks for visiting the blog today. I'll be back on Friday.
