JoFY Snowman

Good morning, Kirsten here, happy chilly Monday. I hope you had a nice weekend. I've got two quick Christmas cards to show you today, both made with the very cute snowman from stamp set JOFY58 from PaperArtsy...................

This one has a background of Victorian Velvet Distress ink, with Picked Raspberry DI sponged lightly through a snowflake stencil and splatters of Silver Starlights Metallic Paint.

I stamped the snowman on to the background with Jet Black Archival and again onto white card with Onyx Black Versafine, heat setting with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder. I coloured his hat and the baubles with pens before cutting him out and fixing him to the background with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue.

I finished the card with a little bit of scribbling with black pen and matting and layering onto a 6x6 card blank..............

Card no. 2 was another very quick background. This time Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks on white card, with Royal Blood Infusions from PaperArtsy sprinkled on top and spritzed with water. When that was dry I added splatters of Rich Gold Starlights.

I made sure the background was thoroughly dry before applying Imagination Craft's Structure Paste through the same snowflake stencil as above, otherwise the inks would have tinted the paste. I added glitter to the wet paste, but it's not showing up in the photo.

I repeated the steps with the snowman as above, placing him at the bottom of the card this time and adding the sentiment from JOFY56....................

Monochromatic Christmas

Good morning, Kirsten here, I hope you had a nice weekend. Lisa and I really enjoyed the Christmas Workshop in Grove Green yesterday, thank you very much to everyone who attended. The workshop projects have been added to this album on the Lisa B Designs Facebook page.
I've two cards to show you today, samples I made for the recent October classes in Maidstone. Apart from the Hobby Art Nature Trail stamp set, everything I used on these cards sold out at the classes and, as it's so close to Christmas, Lisa won't be restocking them, but maybe they'll give you some inspiration........

I created a simple background with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on white card and I glittered the white circle by covering it with double-sided adhesive, then adding loose glitter on top............

I coloured the snow people with Hickory Smoke and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks used as watercolours. The trees were cut from Joy Crafts' Happy Holidays Pine Trees cutting dies.........

I didn't have a greeting small enough for the top right corner, so instead I stamped the branch and bird from the Hobby Art Nature Trail stamp set and coloured them as I had the snow people................

The background for this card was In The Navy Infusions from PaperArtsy, sprinkled onto wet watercolour card, dried then covered with double-sided adhesive and loose glitter as above.

I created a background as above and die cut a large circle then placed it on top of the glittered piece of card...........

Before covering the hills the same way I blended a tiny amount of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on the tops and used Distress inks as watercolours on the snow people..............

The greeting is a Woodware stamp from the Christmas Cheer stamp set, stamped with Versamark and heat set with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder.

Imagination Crafts' Rice Paper Decoupage Card

Good morning all! Martina here with another Imagination Craft's Rice Paper project. We used some of these at Lisa's workshop last Sunday and everyone had such fun with them! We all used different papers onto large tote and small calico bags and then chose our own rice papers to add...they were all fantastic designs and SO different from each other!

This week I have used sections from two designs of Rice Paper and combined them on one card. Once I had chosen papers, I was able to pick out some colours within them to add to the rest of the card. I started the project by cutting a piece of Watercolour Card to the size I needed for a topper and then lightly shaking some Lemoncello Infusions all over.

Add a spritz of water and the colour bursts free...

To bring some of the pink tones into the topper and take away the white areas, I used some Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink with a blending tool. I started with the lightest colour all over and then used the darker colour to bring the edges in. Next, I started to add some interest and layers; using the PaperArtsy Stencil PS055 and some Salmon Starlight Paint, I added flowers over the whole area.

Once the paint and paper was all dry, I started to arrange my chosen elements from the Rice Paper. I chose some clocks from 149 Design and cut them out. I didn't want them as they were on the paper, so I fiddled about until I was happy with the layout.

Using some Magi-Bond Decoupage Glue, I built up some layers, stuck all the pieces down and overlapped where needed.

Once the detail was all dry, I decided I wanted to add some interest and sparkle! I used a couple of shapes from the Crafter's Companion Delicate Details Foil Transfers with some Rose Gold Foil in the corners, but then decided I wanted to add even more...(steady, steady I hear you say...) To give a vintage look I added some tacky glue around the edges of the card with my fingers and let dry very slightly. I then used my left over Rose Gold Foil and pressed it into the glue areas.

To add a message I picked a word combination from the Imagination Craft's Take Time Set. As the words are not joined together as one stamp, it is very easy to arrange them in the position that you need them to be - clever, eh? I arranged them on my block so as to fit a tag die from my stash. I then stuck a left over piece of Rice Paper Design 448 onto some card, stamped with Brown Archival Ink and die-cut.

The final touches were to add some matts and layers in coordinating card and some ribbon from my stash.

Difficult to see the foiling in the picture above, but it is there, I promise!
That's it from me this week; happy crafting and I will see you soon!

Love
Martina

PaperArtsy Infusions' Flowers

Hello everyone, Julie here, I hope you had a nice weekend. My project today is a mix of a couple of techniques and products.

I was having a little play with the PaperArtsy Infusions creating samples pieces of card to be used at a later date and decided I'd like to make some flowers out of these sample pieces.
I chose the Blackcurrant and Terracotta Infusions sample sheets I'd made for this card and stamped the flowers from JOFY32 onto the Infusion backgrounds with Onyx Black Versafine and heat set with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder, then cut them out.

Next I cut a square of black card slightly smaller than 6x6 and gave it a coat of
Imagination Crackle Medium, I painted over the crackle glaze with Baby Blue Americana Acrylic paint and set it aside until the paint had dried and the crackle had developed.

I decided the PaperArtsy stencil PS006 would fit the corners nicely and applied Pistachio Mint Americana paint through it.

When the paint was dry I matted the background onto another piece of black card to highlight the black background in the crackle and I shaped my flowers and then affixed them with double sided sticky pads to my card. To finish I added some Stickles to the centre of each flower....I like just a little sparkle!

I hope you like my make for today.

Lisa is taking bookings for the next two workshops at Grove Green. You can find the information about them HERE and there are a couple of places available on Friday's classes, information HERE.

She is taking the mobile shop to the Barton's Point Model Flying Spectacular this Saturday & Sunday, July 8 and 9. she'll be demoing on both days, so if you fancy a fun family day out, that's the place to be!

Bye for now, I hope to see some of you at Lisa's class on Friday.

Love, Julie x
