Woodware Stamps, Poinsettias and Cones......

Good morning all,

I do hope that you are all wrapped up warm, hasn't the weather taken a real change lately. I am really not too keen on the cold and neither is my body!!!

I can't believe that Christmas is looming up so fast, where has this year gone? Have you done all your Christmas shopping yet? I am chuffed to say that I am nearly done this year! So unlike me I know, it is usually a mad rush at the end......

So the last workshop of the year, the Christmas Party Class is nearly upon us (this Friday) and Kirsten and I have been really busy getting ready for it and will be over the next couple of days. I am really looking forward to seeing you all, we have lots of fun in store for you......

So today I thought that I would do a quick post and show you a couple of cards that I made for the last class using the Woodware Poinsettia Stamp and Fir Cone Stamp.....

This first card I stamped the Poinsettia Stamp on to white velum several times with Versafine Black Onyx Ink and then heat embossed with Wow Sparkle Embossing powder. I then brayered over them with Diamond White Sparkle Medium to add some sparkle. Once dry I layered them up to create four flowers and added some Rich Gold Starlights to the centres...

For the cones, I die cut a white circle of card and stamped and embossed the cone image onto the card. I then stamped and embossed it three times more on to brown card and brayered Diamond White Sparkle medium over the top of them as well and then cut them all out.
I painted the spruce on the cone stamp with Green Starlights and attached one of the cones on top of the stamped cone image on the die cut circle. I cut the top of one of the other cones away cutting along the wavy line and then repeated this on the other one lower down. I decoupaged the pieces on top of the cone and then added the cut off pieces to the side to make it look like a bunch of cones (see pic below), waste not want not I say!

I then matted and layered it all up on to a 7" square card and added my flowers and a sentiment.
A simple but effective Christmas card......

I used the same stamps on the card below but this time on a bauble and cut away some poinsettias and layered them over the top of the cone. They were coloured with Red and Topaz Starlights.
To create the background I foiled some Gold Shine Sparkle Medium through a Diamond Stencil with some cut'n'dry foam......

Well that is all from me for now my lovelies and I will be back soon.
See many of you on Friday.....

Big hugs

Lisa B xx

December Newsletter

Hello everyone, Lisa here, welcome to the December newsletter! It's been a short three weeks since the November classes and here we are, a few days away from the final classes of 2016; the Christmas party classes. 2016 has been an extremely busy and exciting year for me and 2017 seems to be shaping up to be even busier. I hope to be able to tell you some of my plans for the coming year soon.

In the meantime, let's talk about Friday's classes in Fant Hall, Maidstone ME16 8NN. The class project is a large Imagination Crafts MDF bauble, which you will decorate with Starlights paint/Sparkle Medium and more. Kirsten and I have had great fun decorating some baubles to give you some inspiration on the day, I'm including a few sneak peeks of my samples in this newsletter. Look out for more on the Lisa B Designs Facebook page over the next few days.

We will have available a few embellishments, such as die cut poinsettias, for you to add to your bauble, but please bring along anything Christmassy, for example berries/pine cones/gems/flowers/ribbons etc., that you would like to add. It would help if you would also bring along paintbrushes - wide and detail.

For those of you who are waiting for them, Diamond Sparkle Medium, Pearl Starlights and Cracked Ice glitter are all back in stock and I also have some pots of the new Rusty Patina Blanc.

If you've attended the Christmas party classes previously, you'll know that there's always plenty to eat, we'll have the Christmas music playing and there'll be some party games and spot prizes. We will also draw the winner of the Christmas raffle, so make sure you have all the raffle tickets we've given you throughout the year.

The mobile shop will be open during the classes, from 2.30 to 9.30pm, feel free to drop in if you fancy doing some shopping. Please be aware that, as it's the Christmas party, we will not be bringing the entire shop on Friday. If there is anything you want please purchase from the website, or preorder via email; lisabaker1@btinternet.com, before lunchtime on Thursday and I will bring your order with me to the class.

There is no class in January, so I will be taking bookings on Friday for the February 3, 2017 classes, which will be based around new images from Lavinia Stamps, which includes woodland and undersea images.

I will close by wishing you and yours a very Happy Christmas, thank you for support througout 2016.

Hugs, Lisa B x

My November Class Cards

Good morning everyone, Kirsten here, I hope you had a nice weekend. A very quick blog post from me today to show you my take on the November class cards. I used the Hobby Art Nature Trail stamp set for the first card, colouring the fox with pencils & adding a little metal charm from my stash of Christmas items. The background is Shaded Lilac Distress ink...............

For the second card I used Amethyst & Lilac Mist Starlights. I stamped the Woodware poinsettia in clear embossing ink on the bauble & heat set with WOW! Gold Rich embossing powder. I stamped it again in Shaded Lilac Distress ink on the white card & used a Tim Holtz die from my stash also, I foiled the open space with Gold Shine Sparkle Medium............

This coming Friday are the Christmas party classes in Fant Hall Maidstone & we've all been working on our sample projects. Here's a sneak peek of one of mine.............

Look out for more sneak peeks on the Lisa B Designs Facebook page & the December newsletter over the next few days.

Nature Trail Bauble

Hello all, hope you're doing ok and enjoying any Christmas crafting you may be doing.

So today's little card is a take on the last workshop using the bauble aperture and Hobby Art's Nature Trail Stamp Set.

I started with a 7" x 7" card blank and measured the bauble aperture we had in our workshop packs and cut a piece of black card and silver mirri to matt under the bauble.

I wanted to use the little house stamp from the Hobby Art Nature Trail Stamp Set to create the little scene inside the bauble.  I laid the bauble aperture over a square of white super smooth card and using a pencil very lightly drew inside the bauble to use as a guide and line up the stamp.

I stamped the image using Versafine Black Onyx and Wow Clear Embossing Powder.  I then stamped it again onto some Mask-it and Memento black ink pad, I cut out the section I needed as seen in the photo below.

I also stamped two of the trees onto white card and cut them out.

I then rubbed out the bauble fine line pencil marking and covered the little house scene with the mask-it and took one of the Clarity Brushes and Ranger Antique Linen distress ink pad and lightly covered the skyline.  I removed the mask-it and coloured in the image using water colour pencils.

I then wanted a bit of sparkle and fluff so drew some lines on the hill under the house using a quickie glue pen then dipped that in Crystal Glamour Dust (any glitter will do) to create a snowy looking scene.  Then did the same on the trees and various places on the image.    I  stamped the snow from the Hobby Art  Rufus The Reindeer Stamp Set using Clear Versamark and Bright White WOW Embossing powder, then added a little sparkle using the quickie pen and glamour dust again.  The Fluffy Stuff came in handy to create a snowy roof for the house.

Next step was to add the cut out trees to the back of the bauble aperture so it gave it a bit of a 3D effect, and added a little more of the Fluffy Stuff.  I then added a small piece of silver mirri to the back of the bauble to create its top and then a piece of acetate to cover the aperture so it looked like a glass bauble.

I wanted a little bit of depth so lined up the image under the aperture and cut away the excess card before placing foam pads on the underside of the aperture and stuck if over the image.

I used the sentiment from the Hobby Art Poinsettia Set but any sentiment will do, and stamped it around all four edged of the card blank, again using Versafine and Clear embossing powder.  Then drew some wavy line and hid the corners with some little black gems from my stash.

I matted and layered the image onto the black then mirri card and attached to the centre of the card.

I added a silver bow to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed the little tutorial, see you again very soon and thanks for dropping by.

Love Jan -x-
