June Newsletter

Evening! Here's the June newsletter - better late than never, as they say. I've been working on samples for Friday since yesterday and I think I'm nearly finished...........

I hope you had a great May, I certainly enjoyed it, busy though it was. The Create It show at Detling was a great success thanks to everyone who supported it. I had a great time demoing on the Imagination Crafts' stand and we're delighted that the show will be happening again next year.

My first workshop at Grove Green Community Hall took place last Sunday and feedback has been very positive. I think everyone enjoyed being to create their projects from scratch and having time to chat and make new friends.

The next workshop will take place on Sunday July 23 and you can read about it HERE.
Tomorrow is the 1st of June and that means that Friday is Class Day at Fant Hall in Maidstone. This month the projects will be two cards made with Polkadoodles stamps and cutting dies.

As a thank you for your support everyone who attends the classes will get to keep the stencil (worth £4.00) they use on their projects.

As always, there will be new products to buy, including the very impressive Press to Impress stamping platform.............

The July issue of Craft Stamper magazine is also in stock................

All of the new products can be found in the What's New section.

If you have any of the following and would like to bring them with you on Friday it would be a great help......

Colouring mediums, eg; Distress inks, Starlights, colouring pencils/pens

Stencil brushes

Paintbrushes

Onyx Black Versafine ink pad/Black ink pad

(Feel free to bring other stamp sets if you'd rather use them)

***Please ensure your items are clearly labelled with your name***

There are a couple of places still available, so if you would like to attend one of the classes, please contact me by lunchtime on Thursday June 1.

Class times are 2.30 to 5.30pm and 6.30 to 9.30pm. The class fee is £16. This includes your projects, a papercrafting tool kit to use during the class and tea/coffee and a slice of cake.

Please can I ask that you book your place in advance - either payment in full, or a £6 deposit. This ensures that I prepare enough projects for everyone.

You are welcome to order items from the website and pay for them at the classes.
Pre-orders by lunchtime on Thursday would be much appreciated, as this gives me time to pick everything before we load the van.

Have a great weekend, I'll be back next Wednesday with the first of my projects for June.

Hugs, Lisa B x

Time to Relax - Steampunk Style!

Good morning all! Martina here with this week's take on the time themed stamps designed by Lisa B. for Imagination Crafts.

Firstly, how have you enjoyed the sun? It seems that during the half an hour it takes me to do the school run, I need to take the rain cover and the sunshade for the buggy (yes, seriously I have used both within that time!) It seems that our weather likes to keep us guessing, but I don't mind too much, as long as it is not too sweltering in the craft room in the evening...

This week I have taken a slight steampunk theme to my card, adding some layers and lots of bits and pieces to add interest. My box of 'random' things seems to have expanded greatly of late, including bits of broken sandal (metal decorative bit!), Christmas decorations and odds and sods from the DIY shop. You never know what you might need...

I started my card with the idea to use some old sheet music as the background. I cut the most interesting section from the page and then darkened it with some Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs and Black Soot Distress Ink.

Next I wanted to make the music more in the background, so lightly dry-brushed some Chalk White MDF Paint over the whole piece. In random areas I also stencilled sections of the Diamond Stencil, again with more paint. Once dry, I masked off the clock face from the Time Stencil and used this with Platinum Starlight Paint to add detail to one side of my paper.

While that was all drying, I turned my attention to my topper. Cutting a small piece of Super Smooth Card to size, I coloured it with the same Distress Inks as before and the stamped the focal image stamp from the Time To Celebrate Stamp Set. I heat embossed the whole image with Wow Clear Superfine Powder and the painted the wings, clock rim and butterflies with more of the Platinum Starlight Paint. I also stamped around the edge of my topper with more of the paint, using the little 'squiggly splat' (not sure that's the technical name for it, but don't tell Lisa!) from the Take Time Stamp Set.

Apologies at this point, my ability to take step-by-step photos this month appears to have been compromised... Once I had mounted my topper panel, I wanted to add some interest on the edges and in the corners. Using the Gears Die from Craft Emotions, I cut various sizes in black card until I had a nice selection. I painted a few of the paper cogs with the Starlight Paint, along with some cogs from the Gears and Cogs Craft Emotions Wooden Elements set to add some different depths. The screw brads and clock hands were from my stash. I stamped, embossed and cut my chosen words from the Time to Celebrate Stamp Set to finish my card.

I am definitely loving the whole 'layering' thing on my cards at the moment, in fact I am finding it VERY tricky to make those 'clean and simple' cards that everyone raves about!

Thank you for reading,
Love
Martina

Time Flies Canvas.....

Good morning my lovelies,

This is a scheduled post from me today as I am working down at Imagination HQ, helping out to prepare demos and samples for the next One Day Special as I am unable to present this one with Sue as I have my Paper Artsy Workshop on the same weekend. So watch this space as we have something special lined up for you on Hochanda.

So today I thought I would show you in more close up detail, a make that I made for the last One Day Special on Hochanda, I have added a few more elements to it to finish the piece off.
I made a canvas using  Imagination Crafts Structure Paste, mixed media ink sprays, Art Stencils

I really enjoyed getting inky creating this canvas and adding in layers of dimension and texture.

A closer look at the detail, using waxes on to mirri card through the stencil and also stamping the words from the Time Stamps on to mirri card.....
I used some of the Craft Emotions wooden cogs and painted them with Black Starlights and them embossed them with Wow Clear Embossing Powder.

So it is short and sweet from me today as there is much to do and I will sign off now.
Don't forget that I am running a PaperArtsy Workshop & Imagination Crafts Textile Workshop. The details can be found HERE & bookings can be made via the website.

Have a great week
Big hugs
 Lisa B xx

Peach Lily

Hi everyone, Julie here, I hope you're well.
I'm using the same Large Lily Imagination Crafts stencil I used last week, but this time I tried to create something completely different with it.

I used a craft card card blank this time and stencilled straight onto it, sticking my stencil down and using Deco Art Americana chalk paints in Delicate (yellow) and Smitten (peach). I love using these paints as they provide good coverage and have a lovely texture when dry. I wanted the outline of the stencil to stand out so outlined it with a Sakura white permanent marker to help make the flower pop.

Then I concentrated on the background (which you would normally do first, but I was just evolving the card as I went along! ) I masked off my lily using sticky notes and stamped Imagination's
Script Art Stamp in Versamark on the craft card and heat set with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I then die cut the word love and 4 squares from the Crealies Decorette no.19 Twines die on a scrap of white pearl card. I attached some sheer ribbon to the top and bottom of the card and glued down the squares and text.

To finish off I added 4 pearls to the centres of the squares and added some glitter to the centre of the flower along with some Glossy Accents to the lily petals to enhance it.

I hope you like my make today, thanks for visiting the Lisa B Designs blog today. We're only a few days away from Lisa's PaperArtsy workshop on Sunday, I'm really looking forward to it. If you'd like to attend you'll find all the information HERE.

Have a good week.

Time to Celebrate

Good morning, Kirsten here, I hope you had an enjoyable weekend - it was nice to have sunshine after all the rain a few days ago. My card today uses the new Take Time & Time to Celebrate  stamp sets, designed by Lisa for Imagination Crafts. It was one of those projects where I was just playing, then decided I liked what was happening, so there are no step by step photos...........

I made a very simple by braying Bronze Starlights on to white card & dry brushing Topaz Starlights on top, then I used the Sheena Douglass Cool Corrosion cutting die, to cut two sections & matted the square on to black card. ...........

I stamped elements from both Time stamp sets, as well as the Distress Textures 1 & 2 sets on to a piece of scrap card & on to a hand cut tag & distressed both. I stamped the fob watch from Time to Celebrate with Versamark ink & heat set with WOW! Metallic Rich Gold embossing powder, cut them out & applied a little Weathered Wood Distress ink. I painted the cogs with Rustique & Verdigris Rusty Patina. The die cut circle was on my desk so I decided to add it too..........

I liked how everything looked at this stage, so I added a sentiment from the Time to Celebrate set & attached everything to a 6x6 white card blank. I finished the card by adding Crackle Accents to the watch faces........
