Good morning, Kirsten here. I hope you had a nice weekend. The card in today's blog post uses the gorgeous new stamp sets designed by Lisa for Imagination Crafts: Take Time & Time to Celebrate, as well the new Time stencil & Distress Oxide inks..............
The first step was to apply Imagination's Structure Paste through both the Time Stencil & Imagination's Wall stencil & set the pieces of card aside to dry - about 15/20 minutes, so I didn't have to get impatient............
Once the background card was dry I put some Iced Spruce & Walnut Stain Distress Oxide on my heatproof mat, spritzed them with water & dragged the card through the inks. I repeated this a couple of times, drying with my heat tool in between..................
I repeated the same step, this time with a little Fired Brick Distress Oxide & I also added splatters of Cracked Pistachio & Fired Brick Distress Oxide............
When the card was completely dry I stencilled some Fired Brick Distress Oxide through the script on the Time stencil & added some stamping with permanent green inks using the fob watch stamp from Time to Celebrate & the harlequin background stamp from Imagination's Distress Textures 1 stamp set...........
Now I turned back to the stencilled fob watch & wings. I replaced the stencil & applied
Bronze Starlights to the watch & White Gold Starlights to the wings. I removed the stencil & painted both with a wash of Weathered Wood Distress ink & cut the pieces out.
The wings needed a darker contrast to the Starlights, so I painted around them with a wash of
Walnut Stain Distress Oxide. I also added lots of water to a tiny dot of White Gold Starlights & painted it over the watch face.
I added more stamping from the Take Time stamp set - the little stamps are perfect for adding details - with a permanent brown ink. I painted some Craft Emotions wooden Gears and Cogs with
Duck Egg Rusty Patina & when that was dry I covered them with Versamark ink & heat set with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder. I used a HB pencil & a paper stump to add some shading to the bricks.................
I finished the card by stamping the Stampendous Grunge Birthday onto a scrap of white card, tearing & distressing it & adding it to the card with a length of baker's twine..........
That's it from me, if you'd like to see the cards that were created at last Friday's classes, see the May Classes album on the Lisa B Designs Facebook page.
There is now information on a second workshop on the Workshops 2017 page of the blog. The PaperArtsy one takes place on May 28 & the Imagination Crafts' Textile workshop will be happening on July 23.
Have a great week. If you're visiting the Hochanda Create It show at the Detling Showground this coming weekend Lisa & I will be on the Imagination Crafts' stand, we'd love to see you.
Kirsten
