Imagination Crafts Rice Paper Cards.....

Good morning all,

How are we all today? This is the last scheduled post for me as I will be travelling back from my hols today and I hope the weather is good?

So today I thought that I would show you some cards that I made using the gorgeous Imagination Crafts Rice papers. I adore these papers as they are superb quality and are really easy to cut and tear away and you can create some really fantastic classy cards with them.

So let's have a look.....

The first card that I made was using Pattern 319 which is a gorgeous delicate blue, cream and white  rice paper with lace and roses and butterflies along with lots more elements. I often use two sheets as I like to decoupage elements of the rice paper and you only use a small proportion per card anyway.....

Pattern 319

You can see that I have taken  a section out of the middle of the rice paper and stuck it on to a piece of 6" x 6" white card using Decoupage Glue. Then out of a second piece of rice paper I have cut the elements out that I wanted to decoupage quite roughly and stuck them on to a piece of white card. Let them dry and then you can cut them out as sharp as you like.
I then attached them to the card with 3D foam and added some sparkle by using some Diamond Sparkle Medium on the end of my finger and adding touches to the raised areas....

The next two cards were made in a very similar way but with the pink one I added an acetate wrap around over the background image and then stuck the raised elements on the front of the acetate, I really love this look....

This is one that I demonstrated on Hochanda with Imagination Crafts....

The last card is so classy, I adore this paper and have used it in lots of projects on bottles, boxes, etc....

This card was made exactly the same way as the first one except I have added some lovely Hobby House flowers to the card and added a touch of Gold Sparkle Medium to the edges of them to bring them alive....

Well I do hope that you have enjoyed looking at my quick and easy rice paper cards and I will be back next week with more makes.

Remember the event day is looming up fast and it is full steam ahead with all the preperations now....

Please feel free to share the poster at the end of this post on your Facebook and Blogs.

Starlight Butterfly

Good morning crafters, Julie here, I hope I find you well.

Today's post is a card using Americana Chalk Finish paint, Imagination Crafts' rice paper 010 and the gorgeous Starlights metallic paints.

Using a 7x7 card blank I painted round the edges using Pink Sunset Starlight paint - I was lazy and used some scrap paper so I didn't have to clean my mat!

Then I cut some super smooth card to 160mm square and painted this with timeless (beige) Americana Decor Chalk Finish paint. When this was dry I then randomly stamped the Imagination Crafts Script Art Stamp using Versamark ink and WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder which I heat set.

I then chose the black and white butterflies rice paper design 010 and painted around the piece I wanted with water and tore it out. I then broke this down a bit more so I had more torn pieces which I arranged on the card to make sure the layout worked, before gluing them down using Magi-Bond glue.

Whilst this was drying I cut a 165mm square piece of black card ready for matting which would pick out the black text and butterfly I'd just glued on.

I then set about painting the large rice paper butterfly with the Starlight paints, the colours I chose were Pink Sunset, Jade, Lilac Mist and Silver Gold.

Once the Starlights were dry I layered my project onto the black card and then stuck this onto the Starlight edged card blank ( a tip I learnt whilst doing this, is double sided tape sticks initially to Starlights but will peel away in places, therefore I re-stuck this using Cosmic Shimmer glue ).

I then finished the project with some Hobby House pearly gems sparkle flowers in the corners bought from class by the metre.

Imagination Rice Papers & Indigo Blu Mixed Media Papers

Good morning, Kirsten here, I hope you're all well. Can you believe it's almost the end of June?? Before we know it, it will time to start thinking about you-know-what......

But not now, so without further ado, here are my two cards for today............

For this card, I combined the lady from Imagination Crafts' Rice Paper 142 with papers from Indigo Blu's Emporium of Curiosities & Flights of Fancy Mixed Media 6x6 sets. I layered the papers, tearing the top one & edging all of them with Distress inks.
I used Deco Art Decou-page glue to adhere the rice paper to white card, then cut out the lady. I embellished the card with pieces of Hobby House Pearl String............

For the second card I began with stamping the Stampendous Pen Pattern butterflies onto another piece of 142 rice paper & cut them out. The backing paper is a piece of Rice Paper 348 adhered to white card & cut to size. I blended Distress inks over a piece of white card, die cut it with a Tim Holtz die from my stash & stamped & heat embossed with gold EP the greeting from the IC Pimpernel Elements stamp set.................

Rice Papers & Hobby House

Hi crafters, hope you're all well.
Today's offering is a card made with the lovely Imagination Crafts Rice Papers, Starlights and Hobby House Blossoms.

First of all I took my usual 7" x 7" card and cut a matt in black card, I then painted the edges with Imagination Crafts Black Starlights.

Next I cut a piece of White Super Smooth Card slighty smaller than the black to use as my background.

I decided I wanted to use two different Rice Papers, one as the background and the other to use the elements

Rice Paper No 303 for elements

Rice Paper no: 174 for background.

Using 174 first I laid it on the background card and drew a pencil line as to where I wanted it frayed and crated the below elements

I then roughly painted the white card all over using Imaginations Crafts Silver Gold Starlights, I used a brayer for that so I could get the distressed look.

Once dried I randomly stamped the Crealies Crackle Stamp in the areas I knew the paper wouldn't cover.

I then pasted the papers in place and set aside to dry.

Next came the topper elements, I pasted the post card element from 303 onto some white card and cut around it neatly and did the same with the little blue butterfly.  I then tied some twine around the post card for a bit of texture and took some of the beautiful little Hobby House Cream Blossoms and pasted them over the rose on the card and punched out a few leaves from a punch in my stash.

Here are the elements

I used 3D foam on the back of the post card and 3D the butterfly by just sticking the body and folding up the wings.

Here's the card again.

Thank you for dropping by today, see you soon.

Love Jan -x-
