Morning all,
How are we all today?
I have to say I have been so busy lately, nothing new there then!
I have been struggling a little with my fibro this last week but thankfully I am coming out the other side of it now as I am heading off to the NEC today to help set up the stand with my lovely soul sister and brother from Imagination Crafts, Sue and Harvey.......
It is the spring Hobby Crafts Show from 16th -19th March at the NEC and we are on stand A12, so if you are attending please pop by and say Hi.
So it's a quick post from me for today.......
So I thought that I would show you one of my favourite pieces that I made for the last class using the gorgeous Funky Bird and flowers from the Nature Reserve stamps set. I love all the new sets but have a real soft spot for the funky bird.....
I used a white/grey board postcard from That's Crafty and created a crackle background on it. I am not going to go in to detail today of how I did it, as I am short of time and I am going to do a tutorial next week on the blog with a canvas and show you how to create it from scratch.
I used the Imagination Crafts bubble stencil on the background to add some depth with white gesso and stamped some leaves and daisies from the Nature Reserve stamp. I used Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing powder.
I repeated the daisy heads on to a piece of watercolour card and also stamped the Funky Bird and embossed them both with clear embossing powder and then coloured them in with watercolour pens....
After cutting them out, I then stuck the daisy heads on top of the stamped images on the postcard and 3D'd the bird on to the card.
I finished off by stamping some textured dot in black ink around the edge of the postcard and embossing them, these were from the Hobby Art Textures set.
Once I added some white dots with a white pen on his wings and matting it on to black card I was done......
Let me know what you think, I really liked making this one.
Have a great week and hopefully I will see some of you at the NEC.
