A Tale of Two Tags with Hobby Art stamps......

Good morning all, Lisa here......

How are we all today, has your week been as busy as mine?
Phew, my feet have not touched the ground lately and I must say, I am feeling somewhat tired.

There is lots happening over the next few weeks and I am working on a lots of samples at the moment.
It is class day a week on Friday 7th April and I am busy working on samples for that.
I am also working on samples for 4 TV shows, one for Jenny Mayes at Hobby Art on 31st March, Sue Baker at Imagination Crafts for her live show from Ally Pally on 9th April and two Imagination shows, one for my shows on 15th/16th April and an ODS with Sue and myself on 30th /1st May, it is all go at the moment.......

Ok so today, I thought that I would show you a simple tag that I made using Distress Inks and Hobby Art Stamps March Hares and Oliver Owl stamp sets........

I started off by working on That's Crafty White/Grey board Tags, these are great tags to work on and have real quality to them so you can add lots of mediums to them.
I started by blending Tumbled Glass  and Twisted Citron Distress Ink lightly over a tag to add some background colour with a Blending Tool.

I then stamped various images from Oliver Owl stamp set, added a Stampendous Sentiment and a few butterflies from Hobby Art Bluebell Wood stamp set. I used Onyx Black Versafine Ink and then embossed them with Wow Clear Embossing Powder.

Next I coloured them with watercolour pens and bled them out a little with water.
Then to finish off I matted it on to black card and added some ribbon.

The next tag, I made in a very similar way but this time using Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac Distress Inks.
This time I used the hare stamp from  Hobby Art Stamps March Hares as the main image and some foliage behind. I stamped the hare on to a piece of white card and embossed him and then coloured him with water colour pens. Once it was dry, i cut it out.
I used the butterfly again from Hobby Art Bluebell Wood stamp set  and randomly stamped them going in different directions.
Then I felt I wanted to add some texture to the background so I used a couple of stamps from the Hobby Art Textures stamp set. I stamped around the edge with the splatter stamp in Onyx Black Versafine Ink and embossed it. I then used the Shaded Lilac Distress Ink with the crackle stamp to add some texture all over he background.

.

I then added the hare to the tag with 3D foam to add some height and he was done too.

I really enjoy making tags these days as they are mini pieces of art and you can try out so many techniques on them......

Well, I hope you have enjoyed looking today, thank you for visiting the blog. Feel free to leave a comment so that we know you have been.
