Little Bauble Shaker Card

Hello crafters, well this is the final card in the Bauble series for me, looking forward to the MDF class today 😊

This little card used the Bough from the Hobby Art Nature Trail Stamp Set and the Little Bauble Dies.

I started with. 6" X 6" white card blank, some black card, gold mirri and white super smooth card.  I took a spare piece of super smooth and cut it down to about 5.5" X 5.5" and started to stamp across the top of the card with the bough stamp using Mowed Lawn Distress ink.

I wanted this 3D so carefully cut around the whole image, this would work ok if you just cut around the image rather than going into the detail like I did.  I left that to one side while I created the main card.

I cut the gold mirri slight smaller that the main card, then the black card slightly smaller than the gold, thus created my matt.  As I was going to create a shaker I decided to cut the centres out of the background card as you can see below.

The white super smooth card was going to have a circle to emulate a bauble.  So I lined up the white card onto my card blank, then placed the bough stamped imaged across the top so I could see where I was going to hang the little baubles.

I placed a circle cutting die where I thought I would suit best and tapped it down with low tack tape.  I then threaded some fine gold organza ribbon through the top of the baubles then lined them up next to the circle then laid the ribbon up towards the bough before piercing a small hole for the ribbon to go through, I secured the ribbon on the back with some tape and left that to one side.

Next was the apperture, I passed the die and card stock through the cutting machine, this took a couple of passes because of the thickness of both pieces of card.

Turned the front piece of white card over and stuck some acetate to the back then 3D foamed the sides and around the circle ensuring it was all encased so the glitter couldn't escape.

I then stuck this to the black matt frame then onto the gold frame.  I add a further layer of 3D foam around the circle.  I placed a large spoonful of crystal glamour dust (I actually wished I used the Gold Glamour Dust really because of the gold mirri) then missed in a little of the Imagination Craft Cracked Ice and covered the area with another piece of acetate before sticking the whole lot onto the card.

I 3D foamed the back of the bough stamped imaged and stuck it to the top of the card, making the sure the little baubles were in place I 3D those are well,  Where the ribbon was threaded through the bough image I covered that little hole with a red gem then added some more to embellish.

For inside the card I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Hobby Art Rufus stamp set onto one of the cut out circles then matted that with some gold mirri, then placed that inside the card to it lined up with the aperture so the sentiment could be seen through it.

There you go, quite simple and I think the shaker cards are a nice Christmassy effect.
Thank you for dropping by the blog and hope you enjoyed it.
Looking forward to seeing you all for the last time this year
Love Jan -x-
