Light up for Christmas ......

Good morning my lovelies,

How are we all today?
Are you ready for Christmas or have you still got to do the last minute presents dash next week?

I am remarkably organised this year and today I have a very rare day off on my own, so I am going to get all my Christmas wrapping up done. I have decided that I  am going to surround myself with christmas lights (not literally wrapped around me as that would be wrong!), put on a good film and get wrapping and have a glass or two of mulled wine and maybe push the boat out and throw in a mince pie too!!

Lovely.......

Well enough frivolity and on to todays show and tell.......

So before Christmas I decided that I would like to make up one of the snowmen that I was stocking from Anna Marie Designs. So I used various other mdf bits that I also stocked from her to help enhance the project. Unfortunately I did sell out of all the snowmen and kits that I made up to do him but thought that you would still like to see him anyway.

Meet Frosty.......

Yes predictable name I know but he looks like a frosty.

I adore snowmen and have had a thing about them ever since I was a young child. I really loved making him and watching his little character come alive.
I used Imagination Crafts Blanc Rusty Patina on his body and all the snow areas. Brilliant for this time of the year if you want to create snowy scenes on anything.
All the other pieces were painted with Starlights: Black, Topaz, Red, Green, Zinober Gold and Rich Gold.....

I love the way that rusty patina gives you a lovely textured look. Although you cannot see the glitter too well in the pictures, I actually went over the top of the white with Diamond Sparkle Medium for added sparkle!

I added an MDF Fence, Trees, Robin and Dec 25 to the project for added interest.

I also added some glitter snowballs, punched and painted holly leaves and decorative berries to the bottom of it. I then decided that what it needed was lights.......yes lovely twinkling lights.......

So......

A glue gun and a set of wire lights later and he was fully lit up.........

Voila!

He sits proudly in my lounge with lots of my other lovely Christmas decorations.
Have you made anything special for Christmas this year? We would love to see them ......

Well that is all from me for now and I will be back soon with some more Christmas creative makes.

Have a lovely week.....
Love and hugs
