Happy Saturday to everyone, no blog post from Lisa today, for reasons that will become clear during the day...............
My starting point was an A4 sheet linen textured, gloss card from Woodware. Not all inks will be permanent on gloss card, but I chose distress inks to see what results I would get. I used Spiced Marmalade & Weathered Wood first, followed by Pumice Stone through the Glitz Craft Hex Bubble stencil. I dried the inks with my heat tool & was surprised at how much the colour faded, you can barely see the stencilling, But I liked the result, so I carried on. By the way, the inks did indeed dry, but as soon as I touched them with a baby wipe the ink came off.
There's a photo missing here, so the next steps were as follows;
Mix gold mica powder with water & splatter onto the card with a paintbrush, dry.
Dry emboss card with Embossalicious Lattice embossing folder.
Cover entire card with embossing ink, cover that with clear embossing powder, shake off the excess & heat set with a heat tool.
Stick card to kraft card base, doodle faux stitching on kraft card with a fine liner black pen.
Add Antique Bronze Sparkle Medium through Imagination Crafts Wall stencil, set aside to dry.
I used the Kaisercraft Bubble Wrap stamp to stamp onto a small kraft tag with Weathered Wood & Spiced Marmalade distress inks & distressed the sides with a scissors blade. I added the same type of faux stitching to make a border & added a piece of Woodware Vintage 1 Perfect prints paper that I'd scrunched & distressed with inks. On top went the quote from the HobbyArt Butterfly Kisses
Musical Print stamp set.
The focal image is from the same stamp set. I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink, putting less pressure on some areas to try to get faded places & blended a little Old Paper distress ink here & there, avoiding the face. I die cut with a Spellbinders label die, did the same with black card to which I added a border with a gold pen.
I stuck a torn scrap of Kaisercraft's Thankful 12x12 paper - onto which I'd hand drawn music notes - behind the tag & added a few buttons & a cog as embellishments.
Thanks for looking. Until next time, happy crafting.
Kirsten
