Mouse Choir

Good morning crafters, it's Julie here again with another mouse Christmas card from the cute Hobby Art stamp set; Have a Very Mice Christmas

First I stamped in Onyx Black Versafine my choir mouse once in the centre of a scrap of card and heat embossed with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder, and stamped the image again on a sticky note to make a mask. I cut out this mask and placed on the mouse I had just stamped and then re-stamped the same image again either side of my mask and heat set with clear embossing powder again, so I had my choir in place.

Then I set about colouring my choir in with Spectrum Aqua pens, (on special offer on the website).
I die cut the card with a circle die and ran through again using a pinhole circle die from my stash to make a topper.

I then moved onto creating my background and decided I wanted an edge round the card, so I stuck masking tape around the edge, ( this is where I went wrong as I didn't de-tack this enough on my clothing, so you can guess what happened!). I merrily stamped my Imaginations Christmas Script (coming soon!), in the background using a purple ink and covered it with clear embossing powder. I didn't heat set until I had removed the tape as this would have activated the glue on the tape, however in removing this some of my card as well. A little despondent, I carried on and heat set the embossing powder.

So I then cut strips of purple card and attached them to my card blank overlapping each end (to hide my mistake).

I die cut a scalloped circle in purple and attached this to the topper. The topper then got attached to my card using double sided sticky pads and I finished the card with a clear gem in each corner, some Icicle Stickles on the choir's ruffles and a bow I tied with a piece of coordinating ribbon.

Well that's my card for today, I hope you like it, mistakes and all....

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at Friday's classes in Fant Hall, Maidstone, have a great week.

Wrapped Up Warm Mouse

Hello crafters, Julie here, I hope I find you well today... Dare I ask if you have started your Christmas cards yet??? (I wouldn't have got there yet normally). I have another card from the cute Hobby Art stamp set Have a Very Mice Christmas to show you today. I have loved using this set, all the images are very cute.

I cut a square of red card and dry embossed it using a lattice embossing folder. Then I used some silver metallic paint and applied it with my finger to the embossed background to jazz it up a bit.

Next I die cut a piece of super smooth using a diamonds die and stamped my image. I also part stamped the image again (from the coat upwards) on a scrap of card and heat embossed with
WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder.

I coloured the two in using Spectrum Aqua pens (in the Mega Sale on the website). I stamped a little mouse and coloured him in on a small diamond cut piece of super smooth. I cut out the part mouse (head, hat and scarf only), so I could decoupage this on top of the other one with a sticky pad.

I then cut some scalloped diamonds in silver Mirri card slightly larger then the stamped image cards to mat and layer onto. I also stamped a greeting from the same set in red ink and clear heat embossed. I cut lengths of green ribbon and attached them vertically to the red card and tied 2 bows in the same ribbon.

I mounted the embossed card onto a 7x7 white card blank and attached the diamond toppers to the card with double sided sticky pads, stuck the bows I'd tied with Cosmic Shimmer glue and finished off with 4 emerald gems from my stash.

Christmas Mittens

Good morning crafters, Julie here.
The weather seems to have turned a little compared to recent weeks and it feels more like autumn....so here goes with another Christmas card using the cute Have A Very Mice Christmas stamp set from Hobby Art.

First I made the background using a square of super smooth card, a snowflake stencil and
Aqua Sea Sparkle Medium, I set it aside to dry and started on the main event.

I stamped the mouse in the mitten 3 times on a scrap piece of super smooth card in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat set with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder. Then I coloured the stamped images with various Spectrum Aqua pens (on offer on the website at the moment).

I stamped the message on a piece of co-ordinating blue card and heat set with
WOW! Bright White embossing powder and mat and layered onto some white card (as I just so happened to have a scarp of super smooth handy!), then onto silver Mirri card. I trimmed and backed the background and matted and layered onto some silver Mirri card also.

I poked/ punched 2 holes just in from the edge of the card 2cm down from the top to hang my baker's twine line on, using 2 fluffy brads from my stash. I pegged the cut out images on my line so I could arrange them securing the images in place with a double sided sticky pad and some cosmic shimmer glue under each peg and attached the entire piece onto a 7x7 card blank. Finally I added a little Icicle Stickles to the mittens.
