Textured Wedding

Hi Crafters, hope you are all well.  I'm actually still on holiday at the moment, well not at work anyway :o)  Shame the weather has turned a bit rubbish, still enjoying the relaxation time though.

This weeks card has a wedding theme but still with a hint of the texture we learned at the July workshop.

This one took a while as I made quite a few little flowers and layered elements to get the affect.

First I took a 7 x 7 card and rounded off the corners then layered some silver paper from my stash.  For the background I embossed a piece of card with an embossing folder also from my stash.  I then took some wedding silhouette figures, in both black and white and embossed one white between two sheets of copy paper to stop the silhouettes from cracking.  (Lisa has these  silhouettes at the workshops if they didn't sell out at the Extravaganza day of course)  I then cut away the male figure in black and stuck it over the white then stuck that onto another white set to give dimension.   (At this point I went around the edges of the male where you could see the white and coloured it with a fine black marker)

I then set about making a few little flowers either by quilling or die cutting, I also die cut a few hearts in various sizes.   I made the larger flowers with the Sue Wilson Classic Rose die, (unfortunately sold out on the website)

Here are the elements:

I placed the elements on the card, deciding as I went along what I would use, as you can see by the final card that I didn't use them all :o)

When they were all glued into place I die cut a sentiment and stuck that in place before painting the whole thing with white Gesso.  (I kept the figures separate and just painted the female with the Gesso)

Once that was all dry I decided I would use Mica Powders to give the card some bling, although I do think that the Inka Gold Silver or Gold would have worked even better especially as you can paint with them too.  I then stuck the figures in place and matted the card together.  Here are a couple of close ups and the final card again.  The Mica's do give a very delicate colouring which for me is just right, I know some of you like more colour and the Inka Gold's will do that for you :o)

Thanks for dropping by to see my post today.  Look forward to seeing you at the class on
7th August.  Love Jan -x-

Sweet Poppy Teardrops

Hi there crafters, I hope everyone is doing ok.

I thought I'd have a go at the lovely Sweet Poppy Teardrop stencil by using the Soft Form relief paste in white and taking time over it by putting the glitter on with our new tool in the box the humble straw :o)

Sorry but the photo seems to be showing some of the Silver as Gold

It took some time and patience but here is what I did.  I placed some white card stock over a magnetic sheet then laid the stencil on it, then taped it down each side using the stencil tape.  I then spread the White Soft Form Relief Paste over the stencil then carefully removed the tape and stencil.  This is where the patience came in, I lined up the four glitters I wanted to use and randomly laid the glitter over each swirl, by starting with the black then moved onto the next colour and the next, you get my drift :o)

Here is the untidy bit of it:

Here's when it was dry:

I left that to one side to dry.  I then took a 7 x 7 card and matted with silver mirri card and cut a slightly smaller piece of white and placed a strip of double sided tape near the bottom of the card then covered that with Silver Gilding Flakes - Sheffield Steel.  I then distressed the stencilled image with Milled Lavender distress ink (Currently out of stock so Dusty Concord could be used instead)

You'll notice in photo above that some of the glitter bled into areas I didn't really want it to so I decided to do our favourite trick of hiding them with a butterfly.  Well I like it so much I thought I'd put on a few more in different colours to match the glitter.  So I used high gloss card in Black, Mauve, White and Silver and the Cheery Lyn Designs Exotic Butterfly Small (Sorry also out of stock, so you could use the butterfly charms stamp set and cut out the individual butterflies).

Here are the elements:

So to build I matted and layered the stencilled image with black then silver mirri card before placing it on mounting foam and positioning in the centre of the card between the silver gilding flakes strip and the top of the card.

I first placed the butterflies on the areas I wanted hidden then fitted the other butterflies around them.  Finishing off with my favourite bow the Sue Wilson Classic 3D Bow some silver card candi and one single butterfly in the top right hand corner.

Here a little close up of the image and the finished card again:
Sorry for the quality of the above photo.

Thank you so much for dropping by again..........see you next Friday here and hopefully at the class.
Love Jan -x-

White Picket Fence

*This post is part of the January promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*

Morning, I hope everyone's having a nice weekend. Here's my Hobby Art-themed card for today........

I used stamps from four different HA sets; Floral Birdhouse, Nesting,
Anna's Collection - Just For You & Sunflowers -  all Hobby Art stamps are presently on special offer on the website, with 30% off  the regular stamps & 40% off the Christmas stamps.

The patterned card is Anna Marie Designs Powder Blue Dottie card, with another piece for matting & layering with Citrine plain card.

I used the Cheery Lynn Chickenwire Frame die to cut a piece of white card, then cut into the die cut.....

I wanted lots of white & only pale colours on this card, so I used watercolour pencils to colour the birds & the flowers & leaves on the Nesting image - I also cut off the nest.

I used the tiny fence from the Sunflowers set & repeat stamped it onto white card with Onyx Black Versafine ink before cutting it out. I wrapped the ends around the back of the layers of cardstock, so that the front of the fence is curved, not flat..........

I finished the card with a piece of yellow seam binding ribbon & a sentiment from the Anna's Collection - Just For You stamp set.

Acetate Tree

Morning all, hope you're well. I have a very simple card to show you today.

After the November class I had the second acetate tree left over from the second project, so I made a top folding card blank from white card & a piece of Anna Marie Designs Dottie card.

I used the Cheery Lynn Chicken Wire Frame die to cut a piece of white card & used Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue to attach it to the front of the card. Another piece of punched Anna Marie Designs card went over the top, the tree was attached with silicon glue & I added Silver Stickles accents.

Sparkle Medium Diamond   Fir Trees    Chicken Wire Frame   Dottie Lavender Lace   Glitter Glue - Silver   Acetate Sheets  Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Acrylic Glue - 30ml

That's it for today, I'll be back on Friday.
