Red Poppy

Hi there crafters, thank you for dropping by the blog today, I hope you've all been out enjoying this lovely weather.

This weeks blog is poppy based again, and nice and simple.

So I took a 6" x 6" card and matted it with black card then silver card, then a smaller layer of white super smooth which I stamped the Stampendous Vintage Contact stamp through the Imagination Crafts Bubble Stencil using Memento Tuxedo Black ...............

...............to create this background

I then stamped the Woodware Field of Poppies Stamp onto Super Smooth Card twice. I painted the Poppies on one of the images using Post Box Red Dylusions paint.  I cut around the first layer and mounted onto matt silver card then just cut around to create an edging before matting onto black card.

Then coloured in the second image in the same way before cutting out the poppy heads and mounted onto the first image using mounting foam.

I finished off by mounting the layers up and felt that was all it needed.  I hope the like this simple little card.  Look forward to seeing you this month workshop :o)
Love Jan -x-

Magic with Celtic Dreams and Dylusions.....

Hello everyone, hope you're well & able to enjoy the sunshine we've had the last few days. I have two more of my card samples for the April class to show you today. I used the Hideaway (sold out) & Fleur Celtic Dreams cutting dies, with some new Lavinia Stamps & Dylusions paints..........

The background for this card is Crushed Grape, with a little London Blue Dylusions, brushed onto white card, then Lavinia Stamps' Dragon Pods & Fairy Buttercups stamped with Jet Black Stazon ink. I added some highlights with a white pen.

I die cut the Fleur die twice from black card & cut her out from one piece, making a dress & hat from the second piece, which I'd brayered with Diamond Sparkle Medium...........

The background for the second card was Squeezed Orange & Lemon Zest Dylusions, with the same Lavinia Stamps & again, some white highlighting...........

Both pieces were layered with black card & mounted on to 6x6 white card blanks.

More magic with Celtic Dreams and Dylusions.....

Good morning all,

What a beautiful day we had yesterday, I love the sunshine and this time of year when everything is coming alive and starting to bud and flourish......it makes me so much happier.......

I do hope that you are all well and busy making some wonderful cards and projects.
Thank you to everyone that came up and spoke to me at Ally pally to say how much they are enjoying Sue and I on Hochanda with our Imagination craft shows, your comments are very much appreciated and it was lovely meeting you all.......

Sorry but it is a quick post from me today as I have so much to get done this week.

Below are a couple more of the samples that I made for the class last month where we created a background from Dylusion paints using a baby wipe and Lavinia Stamps with Celtic Dream dies.....

Here are a list of the products that I used:

Dylusions Lime and Vibrant Turquoise
Lavinia Stamp Fairy Dandelions

I added lots of detail with a white pen to finish off the cards.......

I hope you liked my inspiration and I will be back soon with more projects, have a great week.....

Big hugs

Celtic Dreams Flutterby & Dylusions

Good morning, here we are again, happy Monday. Thank you for the kind words on our posts last week. We're glad you're enjoying our projects. For today's card I used the Celtic Dreams Flutterby cutting die, Dylusions paint & the Small Fennel stamp set from Woodware Clear Magic.

I applied Bubblegum Pink, Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest & Fresh Lime Dylusions through the
Craft Emotions Background Floral stencil with a mini blending tool & foam onto white Super Smooth card...............

I die cut the Flutterby die from black card twice, cutting out the butterfly from one of the pieces & outlining it with pencil on white card, then cutting that out too. I painted that piece with more of the same Dylusions............

I applied the paint with the blending tools first, then used a damp baby wipe to blend the colours........

I also used the baby wipe to add a tiny amount of White Gold Starlights to the butterfly. This evened out the blending & gave the wings a subtle shimmer.................

I glued the body of the painted butterfly to the black die cut, so that the wings were dimensional..............

To finish, I painted white card with Bubblegum Pink Dylusions, stamped the Small Fennel stamps with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing powder. Everything was matted & layered onto a 6x6 white card blank................

Celtic Dreams Cutting Dies & Dylusions

Good morning, Kirsten here. Happy Monday & happy April. The theme for this month on the blog is Celtic Dreams metal cutting dies from Lavinia Stamps/Imagination Crafts & Dylusions paints. There are a lot of photos in this post, so without further ado............

The Celtic Dreams dies make such beautiful focal images that for most of my projects I concentrated on the backgrounds. For this card I used the Fleur die...........

The first step for this card was applying Squeezed Orange & Lemon Zest Dylusions with a mini blending tool & foam over a piece of Super Smooth white card, then placing the
Craft Emotions' Background Floral stencil on top.............

I then used a clean, damp baby wipe through the stencil to remove the paint, moving to a clean piece of the baby wipe each time..............

I gave the card a quick dry with my heat tool, then applied Lemon Zest on to the Squeezed Orange areas through the Imagination Crafts' Mosaic Crackle stencil...............

...........and Squeezed Orange on to the Lemon Zest areas though the TCW Circle Explosion stencil...........

Then Bubblegum Pink Dylusions through the TCW Tiny Circles stencil............

Next, I decided which part of the background I wanted to be seen through the die cut & marked the outline & the wings with a pencil.............

I painted the area of the wings with Red Starlights........

I die cut the Fleur die from white card, black card & a scrap that I painted with Bubblegum Pink Dylusions. When I glued the black piece to the white, I made sure it was offset by just a fraction, to give a little more dimension...............

I adhered everything to the background, cut around the outside & attached the topper to card I'd previously painted with the same colours of Dylusions, matted all the layers onto black card, then onto a 6x6 white card blank.................

I created a second card with a similar background, using Crushed Grape, London Blue & White Linen Dylusions & cutting the die from black card & card painted with Amethyst Starlights..............

Thank you for visiting the blog today. Lisa will be here on Wednesday with some of her class projects & I'll be back next Monday.
