Lavinia Zen Flower.....

**This post is part of the Lavinia Stamps promotion. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.**

Good morning

Still on the Lavinia theme, this week I've been using the
Lavinia Zen Flower 2 available HERE

Here's the tag straight from the pad

Using Versafine Vintage Sepia, I stamped the Zen Flower 2 and also
stamped Lavinia Wild Flower along the bottom and sides

To finish off, I attached some ribbon and added some

Here it is in another colour

For this tag I stamped with Distress Ink Pad Dusty Concord

Masking technique - spring flowers

Good morning

This week I've used a masking technique with the
Woodware Clear Magic Stamp called Spring Flowers
available HERE

The stamp is described as a bouquet of flowers which is a lovely stamp, but I wanted to create a
 field of flowers

A step by step follows below

Using a Versafine Black Onyx ink pad, I stamped the image twice on to some
smooth white card

I attached four post it notes together and then stamped the image on to them
(centralising the image along the vertical join of the post it notes)

I detached one half of the post it notes from the other

I then cut along the outer edge of the two halves of the image and attached the pieces to
the two stamped images on my white card

Next, I stamped the image again in the space between the post it notes

Above is how it looked when I removed the post it notes

I coloured the image using Promarkers
and cut to size

I matted the image on to some purple core'dinations card stock and added some
and then attached it to a card I made from an A4 sheet of

Another little gift bag....

Good morning everyone

Moving on from last week's easy gift bag, this one is a little more involved

Here is the finished item which
is approximately 5" high by 3" wide and 2" in depth

Here's how to make it
(and there are two more bags made with different papers at the bottom of this post)

Cut a paper to 11" by 8.5"

With the paper placed in landscape, vertically score or fold the following measurements starting from the left at 2" then 5" then 7" then 10"
turn the paper 90 degrees anti clockwise and score or fold starting from the left
2" then 7"
You can just about see the folds above

Cut along the score/fold lines as above
You will notice that on the right hand side, I have cut on an angle on the narrow flap,
also, at the bottom, I have cut each score/fold line vertically to the horizontal score/fold line

With Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue I attached one side (the flap cut with an angle)
to the other to create a 'tube'

Fold in the sides of the bottom and glue

Turn right side up and pinch the sides together

Punch two holes in the closing flap, then pinch the bag closed and mark the holes
onto the paper behind the flap with a pencil.  Open the flap and punch two holes
 where your marks are

Add a decorative strip or punch a pretty edge

Thread a ribbon from the inside of the bag through to the outside and tie a bow
to close the bag

Here is the same bag with different papers

You will see that I have punched the edge of the closing flap on this bag, also, instead of tying a bow, I have tied a loose knot in the ribbon and attached a paper flower
The paper is from the Graphic 45 collection called Picture Perfect

I hope you all have a great week

Make a gift bag....

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday

This week I decided to do something different and had a go at making gift bags in readiness for
Fathers Day

I've used a 12x12 sheet of green textured paper which is available from Lisa's shop on workshop days and a sheet of Kaisercraft 12x12 paper called Botanical from the Timeless Collection
I made a tag using Versafine ink pads and a sentiment stamp from the
Hobby Art Old Crock clear stamp set

I also used Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue as it grabs and sticks really well

Place your paper face down and fold back about 3"at the top

Then fold in the sides to meet in the middle and slightly overlap

Glue the edges together (or use sticky tape)

Fold the bottom up 2" or 3"
You can vary the height and depth of your bag by changing the size of your fold

Open and flatten the fold

Fold the top edge down and the bottom edge up to overlap a little, then
glue and stick together (or use sticky tape)

Punch two holes at the top of the bag
Make a tag
Cut two lengths of ribbon and thread the tag on to one
Make handles by threading each end of the ribbon through the holes in the bag
  and make knots inside

For a different look, use patterned paper

The sizes are approximately
height 8"
width 5"
depth 2"
