Starlight Tree

Hi there crafters, I hope you're all well and doing ok.

This week's inspiration is from the web, I adapted it so I could use the Starlights and Texture Paste through a stencil.

I took a piece of acetate 11.5" x 6" and folded it in half, then cut a piece of white Super Smooth card the same size as the acetate folded and stuck it on the back of the card behind the acetate, the reason for that is so you can write your message on the back.  As you can see I marked the white card so I knew were to put my tape for the patterned card to cover it.

I cut a piece of Imagination Craft Purple Snow card slightly smaller than the acetate and taped that on the inside of the acetate to cover any workings from sticking on the white card.

Next I taped the acetate down with stencil tape ensuring that it was a very tight fit.

Then taped down the Imagination Craft Christmas Fir Tree Stencil (Sorry forgot to take a picture of that).   I mixed some Transparent Texture paste with the Cyclamen Starlight paint, and smoothed it over the tree using the Sweet Poppy Spreader.  I decided at this point to spread a little glitter over the tree while the paste was still wet, putting it on with a couple of sweeps with a straw.  Left it to dry for about an hour.

I wanted a sentiment inside the card so found a Let It Snow die from my stash, which I cut twice, once in white and once in a dark mauve to match the paint.  I pasted the white die cut on top of the mauve to create a slight shadow then stuck that on the inside of the card.

Then finished off the front with a few gems, quite a simple little card so hope you like it.

Here's a photo of the inside and the finished card again.............

Take care all and see you soon.
Love Jan -x-

My Final Card-io Cards

Good morning crafters, Kirsten here. I hope you're having a great week. Here we are in November & the November classes are tomorrow, so I'm sharing my final Card-io Combinations cards, as well as a few others I made...................

I masked off a circle on a piece of Super Smooth card & applied Aqua Sea Sparkle Medium through an Imagination Crafts stencil.............

When the Sparkle Medium was dry, I stamped the images from Christmas Scenery 1,
Christmas Scenery 2, Woodland Walks & Lavinia Stamps Birds with Atlantic, Cyan & Neptune Versacolor inks & finished with Icicle Stickles............

I masked off a circle for the moon & the lower two thirds of the card & just stamped the images randomly, using Weathered Wood Distress ink to add shadows & Icicle Stickles for sparkle.............

The stamp on the next two cards is Oh Christmas Tree from Stampendous.............

The patterned paper is from the Winter Wishes Paper Bloc by Joy Crafts............

I stamped two of the stamps from the Hobby Art Wildflowers set with embossing ink & heat set with WOW Bright White embossing powder. Then I sprinkled on a tiny amount of
Scarlet Brusho & spritzed with water.............

November Classes - Painting with Starlights

Good morning blog visitors, I hope you've got sunshine where you are, it's a dull & gloomy day here, unfortunately. This is a quick post about the upcoming Maidstone classes in Fant Hall, Barming, ME16 8NN, on November 6.

We're going to be painting with Imagination Crafts' Starlight paints & using stencils, die cuts & embossing folders to make two Christmas cards.

Below is a snippet of one of the cards................

You won't be restricted to certain colours, all the Starlights will be available for you to use, so you can let your imagination run wild!

As always, we will supply everything, but there are a few things you need to bring you...........

This Imagination Crafts Diamonds stencil, (or similar)............

Diamonds

You can also bring other Christmas background stencils, such as snowflakes, if you prefer.

You also need to bring the piece of Mylar Lisa gave you at October's Card-io Stamps classes, seen here...........

(There will be one or two of these available, but not enough for everyone, so it is important that you bring yours. New attendees to the class will be given one to keep).

You can bring your own Distress inks, if you choose.

We will have a few embossing machines available, but if you want to bring your own, so that you're not waiting for one to become free, please feel free to do so.

***Please ensure any items you bring are labelled with your name.***

Can I request that, if you know someone attending the class & they don't have access to this blog/Facebook/Twitter, that you forward this information to them?

Thank you.

There are a few places available in both the afternoon - 2.30-5.30 - and the evening - 6.30-9.30 - classes, so if you would like to attend, please contact us. You can email Lisa; lisabaker1@btinternet.com, or phone her on 01622 675 078, or you can message the

The cost of the class is £16, with tea/coffee & cake provided.

I also want to remind everyone that, as Lisa will be demoing for Imagination Crafts at the NEC in Birmingham that weekend, I will be teaching the classes - don't be scared, I promise to do my best! - and as a result, I will be bringing a lot less stock for the shop than normal.

If there is anything you want to purchase & want me to bring to the classes for you, you need to order early...........

From Lisa - no later than Tuesday, November 3, she leaves for Birmingham on Wednesday, Nov 4.

After November 3, contact me, either via the Lisa B Designs Facebook page, or my email; isisimaginings{at}gmail{dot}com, before 8pm on Thursday, November 5. That gives me time to put your order together on Friday morning.

There is new stock coming in & we will make sure we get it onto the website, so that you can see it in plenty of time.

I will end by reminding you of the current blog challenge, which is 'Stamped Christmas Scenes'. It runs until November 8 & if you use Card-io stamps you get a second entry.

I'll be back on Monday with another of my Card-io stamps projects. Have a great weekend & if you have any questions about the classes, don't hesitate to contact us.

Have a great weekend.
