Hello, an extra post from me this week. I told you in Monday's blog post that I would come back & show you the background I made with the left over Inka Gold paint sprays..........
I covered a piece of cardboard with crumpled tissue paper & added
Sweet Poppy dimension paste through the
Imagination Crafts' Honeycomb stencil (back in stock very soon)...............
When the paste was dry I painted the entire piece with DecoArt white gesso & when that had dried, I started spraying with the Inka Gold paints & water mix. The colours are Magenta, Champagne & Turquoise.
I added & removed colour, drying in between sprays, until I was happy. You can keep adding & removing this paint for as long your substrate will allow & you won't lose any of that gorgeous metallic shine.........
Once the card was thoroughly dry, I dry embossed pieces of Anna Marie Designs Trellis card, painted them with Gold Inka Gold & adhered them to the card.............
The next step was DecoArt black gesso applied through sequin waste..............
With white gesso scraped on top of the black gesso with a palette knife..........
I stamped the Stampendous Pen Pattern Butterflies, die cut them with
the matching cutting dies & painted them with Turquoise & Champagne Inka Gold. I applied the same colours with my finger directly onto two pen nibs from my stash...........
A search through a vintage Russian-English dictionary found the words 'beautiful', 'natural' & 'flyer', so I tore those out & glued them to the background.........
I had painted the tray with black gesso initially & I finished it pieces of card, which I'd coloured with Jade Inka Gold, put through an embossing folder, coloured the raised areas with Turquoise & Magenta Inka Gold, then punched out into squares & circles............
We're now just over two days away from Lisa's craft day. There's still lots to do, but we're getting there. At least, we hope we are. :)
Thanks for visiting the blog today. I hope to be back on Sunday with a review of Saturday.
