From Master Boards to Dylusional Butterflies........

Morning all,

How are you all today?
I am rather excited today as I fly off to Spain in the morning for a week all on my own just to have a chill out and take some time out to relax and get some heat in to my bones!! The body has not been so good lately so it is in dire need of a rest......

Today I am going to show you another couple of cards that I made using another master board background made using the Dylusion Paints. As promised I will go in to a step by step detailed tutorial next week on Wednesday of how I create my master boards. I will schedule it as I will be away still......
However the girls have been detailing how they made theirs in their own posts so you can always have a look at those in the meantime......

I made these two cards one after the other. I decided I wanted to stamp some butterflies on my master board and decide to use the Stampendous Pen Pattern Butterfly set which is a favourite of mine. Not only do I love Stampendous stamps for their quality of deep rubber and the way that they stamp so well, I really like the size of these butterflies and they are all different shapes. They work really well on the masterboards as although they are detailed you still have a lot of open space that you can still see the master board through.......

So I stamped several butterflies on one end of my master board using Versafine Black Onyx and embossing them with Wow Clear Embossing Powder (5 in fact) as I wasn't even sure where I was going with the card at this point and then cut them out.
I decided I wanted a strip of master board to go across the cards to match the butterflies, so I cut off a 2.3/4" strip and matted it on to a 3" strip of black card. I then played around placing the pieces on to a 7" white square card.
After deciding where I wanted them to go, I attached the border to the card and then using Cosmic Shimmer Glue attached the butterflies. I really liked them going off the card and when I cut off the excess of them I decided to use them around the edges of the card to make it look like more butterflies flying off of the page.
It needed a little more so I got out my Hobby Art Decorative Backgrounds Stamp Set and chose the swirl circle stamp. I did some secondary stamping using Black Soot Distress ink on the background to infill a little bit. It needed a message so I took a Birthday stamp sentiment out of my stash inked the edges with a light bit of Black Soot and then matted it on to black card and attached it on to the border and then it was done, so easy but effective......

So now I had two butterflies left that I had cut out and I enjoyed making the first card so much that I thought I would make another one but slightly different.......

I chose to use a smaller 6" square card this time and again cut a smaller strip of master board this time  ( I think it was 1" ) and then matted it on to black card like before.
Again I placed the elements around the card to see how I wanted them, ( I tend to do this always when I am designing......I never really know where the project is going until its done! )
I attached the border and butterflies to the card and then decide I wanted the word FLY on the top right of the card, so I got out my Stampendous Vintage Uppercase Stamp Set and added the word fly to my acrylic block and stamped it in Versafine Black Onyx on to the card. I didn't emboss it this time as I wanted it matte.
Then I took out my Indigo Blu Limor Webber Ink Splats Stamp ( again another favourite of mine at the moment ) and I added some secondary stamping using Black Soot Distress ink to the background.
Now at this point I felt it needed a little more colour, I had a look around my incredibly messy table in the studio and found some stamped poppies that I had done at the Hobby Art workshop a couple of weeks ago using Brushos on Watercolour Card. they were the perfect colour so I cut them out and attached them to the card and then using a black fine liner I drew in some stems and then I was done....

I really love the vibrancy of the Dylusion Paints and I am really hooked on creating these master boards at the moment. I hope that you have enjoyed the post and I will be back next week with the tutorial.......

Adios for now.....
Hugs Lisa B xx
