Good morning bloggers,
How are we all today, recovering from Christmas and New Year I hope.......
Have you made any New Year resolutions?
I know that I hope to have more time to play this year.... all work and no play makes Lisa a boring girl!!!
No seriously I want to work on more art based projects this year and hold some smaller classes at a new venue. They will be all day classes with me, doing much more altered, technique based projects...... Something that we can really get our hands into and get mucky!!!
I will announce details nearer to the times and there will be lunch supplied too and lots of usual fun as well.......
Well, on to today....
As you know by now we are focusing on the lovely Hobby Art stamps this month and we have a fantastic giveaway HERE, as well as that I have done a special on the website of 30% OFF regular Hobby Art Stamps HERE and there is also 40% OFF Christmas Hobby Art Stamps HERE.......
I thought that I would start off by showing you a couple of cards that I made for Hobby Art last year using the Wonderful Day stamp set. This is a relatively new stamp from Hobby Art, so at the promotion price of £6.99 it is an absolute bargain and all the promotion stamps are whilst stocks last this month too.......
This stamp set is so pretty and can be used for so many occasions, I really fancied making the flower in to a lilac so this is what I made......
I apologise that the pictures are not quite as clear as I would normally show you, however I didn't take them and the cards were sent off but you can see the effect.....
I attached two of the main flower stems to an acrylic block and stamped the images on to super smooth card with versafine ink and then embossed with Wow clear embossing powder. I did the same with the flourish corner and stamped top and bottom as shown.
I then used my Pro-markers to colour in the images and then added a little dusky concord Distress Ink around the edges with a blending tool.
I did the same with the message and outer border and then matt and layered both pieces on to black card and then lilac.......
I used Anna Marie Designs dottie lavender lace card for the background border with a ribbon wrap around and then assembled the card adding some rhinestone sparklers......
I enjoyed making the first card and fancied creating a border on the next card so this time I cut a border from super smooth card and then using the flowers and leaves from the stamp set I inked them this time with Versacolor Bamboo ink and then embossed them all like before so that there was no stark black outline and again I coloured them with Pro-markers.....
As before, I used Anna Marie Designs dottie lavender lace card for the background border and matting layer for the message and then assembled the card adding some rhinestone sparklers......
I hope that you have enjoyed my little inspiration for today and I will be back soon....
Have a great week....
Hugs Lisa B xx

ReplyDeleteI wish (again) that I lived closer to attend your classes. I'll have to look at places to stay overnight!
ReplyDeleteThese are both lovely cards with the stamps used in such different ways. I tend to use lavender a lot, so will remember these! Thank you, Jan
These cards are Lovely, great ideas I get stuck in a rut of using the large image and forgetting about the smaller ones, so this gives some good ideas for that, thanks, Nicola x
