Morning all,
Me again, two posts in two days can't be bad can it!!
Our lovely DT member Georgina is taking a little break for a couple of months over the summer to spend more time with her daughter and hubby. Kirsten and I will be covering the posts and also blogging some of Georgina's cards too. We also have a new DT member coming on board which we will announce to you in due course.....
Because it has been lovely and sunny lately it put me in good mood in my studio the other week and I reached for my Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks and got out my gorgeous Dinkie Flutterby Stamp.
I have had quite a few butterflies in the garden lately and I have been watching them darting between the flowers so it gave me an idea!!
I also grabbed out of my stash the lovely Wild Flowers Stamp, the Live Every Moment sentiment from the Live, Love Laugh Stamp Set and my Diamonds Stencil.......
I created the background first using the Diamonds Stencil and sponging through with some cut'n'dry foam using both distress inks, blending them as I worked them through.
Then I stamped and embossed the message using Black Versafine Ink and Wow Clear Embossing Powder.....
I stamped the Dinkie Flutterby on to another piece of white card, stamped it again on a post-it note and made a mask and then stamped the Wild Flowers Stamp over the top. I embossed all the areas with clear powder again.
I made a watercolour wash with both of the Distress Inks and painted the flowers and butterfly. I used a Pro-Marker to add a bit of green to the stems and then I cut the whole thing out leaving a white border around the edge to make it pop.......
I then matt and layered it up on to my card adding a bit of height to the main focal with some 3D foam.....
I hope you like my drop of 'Summer Sunshine' inspiration....
Please leave a comment as I love to read what you think..
Until next time,
Big Hugs Lisa B.xx
