Hello crafters, hope you enjoyed Lisa's demoes on the Imagination Crafts shows on Create & Craft yesterday.
I'd like to show you a little tray I altered for the event day. These wooden trays would be perfect for keeping keys in, or even a doll's tea set. I gave it a coat of gesso first, to seal the wood & provide a base for the paint. Then I painted the tray with a few coats of Martha Stewart Scallion acrylic paint.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps Field Grass stamp on the sides with embossing ink & heat set with WOW white embossing powder...........
On the handles I stamped the large butterfly from the Card-io Majestix Flutterby Garden stamp set with embossing ink & again, heat set with WOW white EP.
For the centre I cut a piece of white super smooth card to fit, stamped the Woodware Clear Magic 'Georgina' stamp & its smaller counterpart on to masking paper & cut them out. I then began stamping with Turquoise, Peony & Bamboo Versacolor inks, masking off parts of the flowers as I went.......
I filled some of the white areas with a stamps from the Card-io Collection Greenery 1 stamp set.......
I then used felt pens in a paler blue & pink around the inside edge of the flowers..........
I used a wet glue to adhere the stamped panel to the inside of the tray & covered it with a piece of acetate.............
There's still a week left of the current blog challenge. We'd love to see your projects made with Indigo Blu/Woodware Stylised Flowers. All details are on the challenge page.
Thanks for looking, see you next time.
Kirsten

Lovely project. I like the white embossing round the sides.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely project! Great idea for a gift too. Missed Lisa's show yesterday but managed to catch the video on the C&C site, interesting and fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love how you've altered it. Where did you buy the tray? x
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, glad you like it. Lisa had them on sale at the event day last week . We haven't yet got them on the website. If I remember correctly they're £4.99, if you'd like one, drop Lisa an email. Thanks again.
DeleteI managed to catch Lisa's appearances on C&C-didn't she do well. Of course it cost me quite a bit to watch the shows!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this tray you've made, Kirsten. Everything goes together so well! I think I need to steal some of your colour combinations! Thank you, Jan
Thanks everyone, glad you like it.
