Lavinia Stamps & Stenciled Brusho Crystals

Good morning, I hope your weekend was wonderful. Today's post is about two quick & easy backgrounds for my Lavinia Stamps & Sweet Poppy focal images..............

Place a stencil - I used Imagination Crafts Diamonds -  on a piece of watercolour card & have another piece of watercolour card close by.........

Sprinkle the first piece of card with two Brusho colours - remember that Brusho crystals are made up of multiple pigments, so two colours, three depending on the colours you choose, are usually sufficient - and spritz with water..........

(I used Leaf Green & Grey here. I meant to choose Lime Green, but quite liked the Leaf Green).

Don't overload the card & stencil with water. Be patient, spritz a little first, watch to see how the crystals react before spritzing again.

When you're happy, make sure your second piece of card is within easy reach & carefully lift off the stencil..............

Flip the stencil over & place it onto the second piece of card.........

Take a roll of paper towel & roll it over the stencil once.............

Carefully lift it off...........

Here's the first piece of card............

I blended Shabby Shutters & Twisted Citron Distress inks over the first piece of card, then applied black texture paste through the Sweet Poppy Floral Spray metal stencil. I applied Twisted Citron DI through the Floral Spray stencil directly onto a 7x7" card blank & stamped the Lavinia Stamps Ink Caps stamps on top with Onyx Black Versafine..............

(I stole the layout for this card from one of Lisa's samples, which she will probably put in one of her posts).

For the second card, I blended Squeezed Lemonade & Mustard Seed Distress inks over the second piece of card, stenciled Black Soot DI through the TCW Tiny Circles stencil & stamped the Limor Webber Ink Splats & the Lavinia Stamps
Silhouette House Pods stamps with Onyx Black Versafine.................

  2. Absolutely gorgeous. You've completely inspired me to get out the Brushos I got and have a play (as soon as my deadlines are out of the way). What a great technique with the flip over - done it with DIs of course, but the powders give you such a cool effect. Lovely cards at the end of it all too. Brilliant!
