Believe In Magic

Hi crafters, hope you've all had a good week.

Today's card is a take on a mixed media and inspiration I took from the web, I put my own interpretation on it and used some of the techniques we've learned over the last couple of months at Lisa's workshops, so there's Brusho's, stamping, stencilling, a bit of texture paste and some paper piercing.

I used a 7 x 7 white card and cut a black mat then a white mat used for the background.  I decided to use a different technique for the Brusho's this time so I spritzed my blending mat with lots of water and peppered the Ultra Marine and Yellow over it until it looked nicely covered.  I then carefully laid the white mat card over and pressed down gently until I was sure the whole card was covered, again carefully lifted it off and mopped up all the excess water.

Then I took the Imagination Craft Bubble Stencil and randomly covered areas of the card using Adirondack Stonewash.  Next step was to stamp some decoration using the same ink pad and Hobby Art Decorative Background again randomly on the card.

I chose the Lavina Stamps I wanted as follows:
So Luna was stamped first, so as to get the position right.  I stamped one large Toadstool and two of the small onto separate white card and cut then out.  I also stamped Luna again and just cut out her wings.   Then used the Imagination Craft Leaf Swirl and placed it on the card spreading the Transparent Paste through in the areas I wanted. (I should have used the white paste, however I'd run out, more explanation below)

I glued the Toadstools into place before stamping the undergrowth, then coloured in using watercolour pencils.  I glued the wings on to Luna then water coloured those too.  To get the little berry's I used a border punch I have that has lots of little bubbles, drew a spiral on each before sticking them on the branches and coating them in Stardust Stickles, which I also used on the Toadstools.

I painted the leaves with Silkies but here is where I said I should have used white paste, because trying to paint the transparent leaves was very difficult because I couldn't see so I went over the lines slightly :o(

I punched a few little dragon flies and it was done.  I hope it wasn't to hard to follow but if you do want more information either ask me in the comments or tap me on the shoulder at the workshop :o)

Here's the finished card again with a close up too:

Thank you for dropping by again and see you soon
