With a Man in Mind.........

Morning all,

Thank you to all of those who attended the class yesterday, it was fabulous to see you all and I hope that you enjoyed the class as much as I did......

You all made some fabulous art work with the techniques and went home with great cards, so well done.

I thought that I would kick off by showing you a couple of the cards that I made for the workshop along the men's theme. They are always a little bit tricky but over the next coming two weeks we all have plenty of inspiration to show you. So without further ado, here is the first one.......

I really like this set, it has a great mixture of stamps that work really well together or as stand alone images.....
I used a Tim Holtz Postcard embossing folder out of my stash and stencilled over it with Distress inks......

For the background of the card I used one of my favourite stencils at the moment the Glitz Craft Hex Bubble and sponged through it with Antique Linen and Stormy Sky Distress inks. I also added some second generation stamping with the Kaiser Script Stamp on the background........

For the main image I used Versafine Sepia ink and again sponged some hexagons on the background....

And for the next card, I thought that I would show you another sample using the Old Crock stamp.........

For this one I used the TCW Mini Sketch Grid stencil with Antique Linen Distress ink to create the background and then added a very light sponging of Frayed Burlap Distress ink through an Imagination Diamonds stencil, another of my favourites!!.....

I also added a an embossed key panel which I distressed back, I used the Darice Keys folder for this.....

For the main image I stamped the car from the Old Crock stamp set in vintage sepia versafine and then added some Stamp and Bond powder on top. I tapped it to knock off the excess and then heated it until it was sticky and the added a sheet of gold transferable foil on top. Rubbed it with a dry paper towel on top and then removed the foil sheet and hopefully you can see the foiling on it.....

I also did the same with the diamond stamp on the background from the Old Crock stamp set and foiled it too as you can see.

I finished off by adding some button and cog embellishments.....

Please be aware that these items used may show as out of stock on the website, bear with me, the correct totals in stock will be entered in later today and will all be on by tomorrow....

  2. Like these cards. Wish I could come to a workshop; why are men's cards so hard to do? I'm going to look now at the stamps you've used. That old corck would be perfect for my dad!!! Thank you, Jan
