Good Morning all, or are you having a lay-in in preparation for a late night tonight? I won't make it I'm afraid; getting old! Tomorrow I have a house full, so going to firmly close the door tonight to my crafty retreat, keeping all the rugrats well and truly out!
My final project for the year, and I'm sending you some 'Winter Wishes' using Starlight paints. These versatile paints can be used all year through and for all occasions; I did not have any of the Christmas colours for example, but have still managed to create everyday and Christmas makes!
First step; coat three sheets of Super Smooth White Cardstock; one with Cyclamen Starlight Paint, one with Platinum Starlight Paint and one with Dark Orchid Starlight Paint. You can use a brayer, (as I have done in many of my blog posts) or a paint brush. You can also apply directly to surfaces 'neat', or make into a slight wash, up to you! In the picture below I have made a wash using a little of the paint and a spritz of water. This gives a more 'streaky' effect. If you prefer you can also die-cut your shapes first and then paint them. As I planned to be cutting lots of shapes and prefer to paint and clear the mess away in one go, I prefer the 'whole sheet' painting approach!
Once dry, I have die-cut some poinsettias from the Cyclamen and Orchid sheets and embossed them. I have also die cut some Sue Wilson Holly Sprays from the Platinum sheet. A sentiment, some pearls and some co-ordinating cardstock complete all the elements needed to assemble my card!
A very quick and simple one today, and a design you can use and change slightly for all year-round (check out the Sue Wilson Trailing Ivy Die and match with your favourite flower dies and sentiment!) The paints really are fab; have a try with them and enter our challenge which closes on the 2nd January! It's worth a try to win £20 towards your New-Year crafting purchases!
Thank you for reading; I wish you and your families all the best for the New Year and look forward to trying new things with you in the months to come!
Lots of love
Martina
