Acetate and Starlights

Morning, happy Friday one and all, its going to be a lovely one for me, I'm going to be spending time with some lovely people today :o)

Today's card is something I've done before, but just slightly different.

Here are the elements

So I started with a piece of acetate approximately 11.5" by 6" and run it through a snowflake embossing folder to take off the plainness, then folded it in half to create the card.

I then attached a piece of white card, to fit the back and double sided sticky taped it to the back of the card so you could see the tape through the acetate, you can just see what I mean below.  The plain is there for you to write the sentiment on the back of the card.

I then cut a piece of Christmas patterned card from my stash slightly smaller than the white card, and enough to cover the workings and stuck that inside the card.

Next I cut a Merry Christmas sentiment in white then black and stuck them together using cosmic shimmer and with the black behind and slightly offset to create a shadow effect and placed inside the card on the patterned card.

I painted the die cut poinsettia using Starlights Red and the leaves with Starlights Green and left the Holly Sprays white.

Once everything was dry I assembled the poinsettia, then glued the Holly Sprays in place then the flower and finished off with a Diamond Gem

Here's the card from a different angle to give an idea of how it looks, you can just make out the embossed acetate :o)

Nice quick card again today, hope you enjoyed it and see you again very soon
Love Jan -x-

  2. Love this card Jan, really different and a clever use of acetate. Haven't used acetete for a while, I might have to re-visit!
