Quick & Easy Card-io Cards

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here with the final blog post of the Card-io promotion fortnight.

My first two cards are very simple, but I wanted to show you that you don’t have to use all the stamps, or have lots of stamping on your projects. This first uses the tiny flower from the
Sweet Birdhouse set, stamped with Bamboo & Atlantic Versacolor inks on an embossed piece of cardstock.

I started this card by putting Atlantic Versacolor on my craft sheet, spritzing it with water, loading a very small paintbrush with the resulting paint & splattering it over the card stock. I dried some of the splatters with my heat tool & left the rest to dry naturally, this gives different depths of colour. I stamped the sentiment from the Say It With Flowers set with black Versacolor, then stamped the outline flower from the Sweet Birdhouse set with Bamboo, Atlantic & Neptune inks. To finish I used a length of stencil tape to make a border, covered the border with Versamark embossing ink & heat set with WOW silver embossing powder.

Finally, I used Martha Stewart paints – Hailstorm & Sea Lavender – through stencils –
Imagination Crafts Bubble & Glitz Craft Hex Bubble – to make the background. I stamped the branch from Greenery 1 onto scrap card with Bamboo ink & the flowers from Sweet Birdhouse with Atlantic ink, using second & third generation also. I cut it out, leaving a border & used 3D foam to attach it to the background card. I stamped the birdhouse onto the painted card & again onto scrap card, colouring in the second image & adding the little bird from the Sweet Birdhouse set – that was quite fiddly, but luckily, it worked first time. I added some butterflies from the Flutterby Garden set with Neptune & Atlantic ink.
