April Class in Maidstone

Good morning, Kirsten here with a recap of yesterday’s classes in Maidstone. As always, it was a hectic day, but also great fun & I think everyone went home happy with their two projects. When I uploaded the photos just now I realised two things; I had forgotten to take photographs of the two class sample cards & I can’t remember the names of the two ladies in the last photo, many apologies. I shall ask Lisa tomorrow to for the photos & information & edit this post then.

The promotions table was almost groaning under the weight of all the new products.

The Sparkle Medium was even more popular, with twelve gorgeous new colours to choose from.

There were so many stencils we had to put them on a separate table.

Everyone loved these new panel stencils from Imagination Crafts.

038

We were delighted to finally have the new bow tie, flower & branch dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions & many of the ladies just couldn’t resist them. Behind them are some of Lisa's gorgeous sample cards.

044

We had seen these gorgeous A4 cards from AnnaMarie Designs when we were at the trade show in February & knew they would work perfectly with the class project & they proved very popular. We made lots of samples with them, which you’ll see in the next few weeks. They're excellent quality, 300gsm so are ideal as a card base, as well as being great for matting & layering, etc.

045

The class was based on stamping with Card-io Collection & Card-io Majestix stamps using Versacolor inks, (everyone LOVED these little cubes of intense colours).

As you can see, there were lots of stamp sets to choose from.

And in case there weren’t enough stamps, we had some of the new Woodware Clear Magic stamps as well.

Lisa is at the Excel today, demoing for J & C Creations, so she won't get the remaining stock onto the website until tomorrow. If you see something you particularly want, make a note of it, or create a wish list be clicking the button underneath the item.

After all the shopping it was time to do a little crafting. This is one of the ladies' finished cards to give you an idea of the first project. That is one of the Sue Wilson bow tie die cuts.

050

For most of the ladies it was the first time they had used Card-io stamps & it took them a little while to work out how to build a scene using first-, second- & third- generation stamping, but by the time they started working on their second project they were flying.

                                                     Here’s Lisa giving some instruction.

                                                       The second project in progress.

Here’s Jane with her first card.

052

Everyone used different colours of inks & it was great to see how everyone interpreted the project cards & ended up with their version.

Ladies, thank you for letting me take your picture, I will add your names tomorrow, I promise.

*I've heard from Lisa & we have Janet on the left & Rachel on the right.*

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday, we hope you enjoyed it & will be inspired to create more projects with your new Card-io stamps.

In next month’s class we will be making cards for men, using Kaisercraft papers, amongst other things & I know there are definitely places available in the afternoon class, so if this post has got you thinking you’d like to join us, please email Lisa at lisabaker1@btinternet.com. Classes cost £15, last three hours & usually two projects are made, depending on the size, & tea/coffee & cake are included.

That’s it from me for today. The blog challenge ends tonight at 11 tonight & I shall be back tomorrow with the winner & the new challenge. See you then.
