Hello, Kirsten here. The Card-io promotion may be over, but I found some more samples & thought those of you not at the class a few weeks ago might like to see them.
I used three of the Flutterby Garden butterflies as the focal image on this card, stamping them & colouring the layer behind with Turquoise Versacolor ink & heat embossed with WOW white EP after applying Versamark ink through the Imagination Crafts Bubble stencil onto a piece of
Cool Grey Dottie card from Anna Marie Designs.
This card has stamps from the Greenery 1 set stamped onto dark purple card stock with white Versacolor ink & a piece of Anna Marie Designs die cut Trellis card placed on top with foam pads. The birdhouse was stamped onto dark purple card with Versamark & heat set with WOW silver EP.
I stamped the flowers from the Sweet Birdhouse onto scrap card with Atlantic & Neptune Versacolor inks, cut them out & arranged them on the trellis with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue.
This card has the waste from the trellis card arranged behind the die cut circles, with the Flutterby Garden butterflies stamped in Versacolor Turquoise. The quote is from the Say It With Flowers set. The printed card stock is Anna Marie Designs Dottie Lilac & Striped Olive Green.
This card also uses a stamp from the Greenery 1 set. I stamped with Black Versacolor & heat set with WOW clear embossing powder onto a piece of Anna Marie Designs Cool Grey Dottie card. On top is a piece of white card which I dry embossed with the Embossalicious Lattice folder, I used a punch to make the decorative edge & added silver liquid pearls. On the bow is another Greenery 1 image, stamped onto scrap card, heat set with silver EP & cut out.
I wanted to see if the Versacolor inks would give a letterpress effect & I’m happy to say that they did. It’s a very subtle effect, which is nice when you want a simple background. I just swiped the inks – Bamboo, Atlantic & Turquoise - over the embossing folder, making sure it was on the side that would go on top of the side of the card that would be shown & gently patted them with a baby wipe. These inks are very juicy, so they will move easily. After embossing, the flowers stand out white with the splatters in the background.
I stamped the flowers from the Sweet Birdhouse set over the splatters & added a little
Diamond Sparkle Medium to the lower embossed flower.
Thanks for visiting the blog. If we’ve given you any inspiration you can enter the current

Some lovely cards there, again. I'm going to try the letter press technique with an embossing folder-haven't done it yet!! Thank you, Jan
