Card-io Baubles

Hi crafters, well this is my last Card-io post and today is something a little different for me.

I chose the Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom die and cut out the largest 4 times on Super smooth white card.  Then cut the next size down twice.

I then took the large die again and placed the next size down inside it to create an aperture.  I also run it through to emboss it so to have a nice finish to the die cuts.

For the aperture bauble I stamped a Card-io Christmas sentiment on the back of  one of the large die cuts using Black Onyx Versafine and Wow clear embossing powder, then stamped a few little snowflakes (from my stash) using Versamark and Wow Bright White Embossing Powder.  Once heated and dry I lightly distress it using Salty Ocean Distress Ink for the resist technique.

On the reverse side I wanted to create a little scene, so using the Card-io Christmas Scenery 1 & 2 I placed the Mylar two thirds up on the bauble and stamped the Santa and Sleigh in Black Onyx and embossed.  Keeping the Mylar in place I used the same distress ink as before and created the sky.  I then moved the Mylar around the bauble to get the effect of snow dunes using Salty Ocean distress ink.  I stamped some little trees then stamped one of the smaller trees from the Woodland Walks set before drawing in lines of glue using the glue pen and Crystal Glamour Dust.

I placed some acetate on the aperture and mounted that with 3D foam before setting over the image.  I punched a hole in the top then placed an black organza bow on top and tied some glittery black wool to finish it off.

The double Bauble hanging ornament was created as follows:

I cut some of the same shape ornaments as before but only two of each size this time.
Stuck both smaller sizes together then larger size the same, then stamped the large Reindeer from Christmas Scenery 1 on one side of the larger bauble then the small Reindeer on the smaller shape.  I used the Mylar again to create the snow dunes as before using a very small amount of the Hickory Smoke Distress ink and used the glue pen and glamour dust to finish it off.  On the reverse side I used the Card- io Christmas Sentiments and again stamped a few of the snowflakes before distressing all over with Hickory Smoke for the resist effect.

Here's a couple of close ups:

I just tight them together using some black glitter wool and tied tiny bows on top of each bauble.

Very simple today but hope you enjoyed it.  Look forward to seeing you next Friday.
Love Jan -x-
