My sincere apologies as I promised this tutorial to you on Saturday and unfortunately, with so much work on I did not get time to write up the blog post so my little star Kirsten stepped in to help me out on Saturday!
This is still going to count as part of the Lavinia Promotion fortnight as I have a Lavinia sample at the end of the post!!
So here goes, these flowers are really easy to make and you can get quite a production line going with them.......
Starting off with a piece of card 3" square, any colour of your choice, I chose white for this one......
Then take the Mini Petal Stencil and place on top of the card..... using Stencil Tape place a piece across the top of the stencil first and then down the sides and lastly the bottom......
Then take a Palette Knife and some Silver Sparkle Medium and using your knife take a small amount of the Sparkle Medium and spread over the top of the stencil like spreading butter, keeping the knife flat as you do it. Remove the excess Sparkle Medium and place back in to the pot as it is re-usable........
Remove the bottom of the tape and then the sides and leaving the top piece of tape on pick up the stencil and check your card. If you have missed a bit then you can drop the stencil back down and by using the top of the tape as a hinge you will be in the same place to add a little bit more......
Leave to dry entirely, about half to an hour depending on the weather or room temperature and then cut out leaving a border around the edges of the petals like above......
Now you know how us crafters are really frugal.......the leftovers look like waste, don't they?......
However, if you cut them away with a border at the bottom then they look like tree tops. With a nice little hand cut mirri card trunk they would look great on a Christmas card, hmmmn.......
Or turn them the other way inwards and we have another flower, maybe put a Card Candy in the centre or Rhinestone Dazzler......
Here is a load that I made in the studio at the Imagination Crafts Weekender, look at the colours that you can make........there are so many colours of Sparkle Medium.......
And here are a few examples of projects that I have put them on, the first one was using the Daisy Curl Stencil with Royal Purple Sparkle Medium.......
Well, I hope that I have inspired you to have a go, it is great fun.......
