Good morning, Kirsten here with another Tuesday Tutorial. This time, it's about this card…………….
I stamped the Zen Tall Mushrooms onto Mask-It paper, cut them out, removed the plastic backing & stuck the sticky backed images to a piece of white gloss card.
I began with Sunset Satin Silkies, putting it on my craft sheet & rolling the brayer through it, then onto the gloss card & drying with my heat tool.
Drying each layer is important, you want to be able to see the different colours at the end. You don’t want a smooth finish either. Seeing patches of white through the colours will give more depth to the finished image.
I next used Apple Lace – a smaller amount & making sure not to cover the first layer – drying again & finishing with an even smaller amount of Sunshine Satin…………..
When you remove the masks, you’ve got a nice white space to work in……
I stamped the mushrooms onto the gloss card with Onyx Black Versafine & heat set with clear embossing powder. You can see that I used too much pressure when stamping the large mushroom, but that didn’t matter because I would be covering up the top of it……
Time for some sparkle. I replaced the masks & applied Chartreuse Sparkle Medium through the
Set aside to dry…………
While the Sparkle Medium was drying, I stamped the mushrooms onto Super Smooth white card, again with black Versafine & setting with clear EP. Apart from the windows, which I painted with Sunshine Satin Silkies, I left them as they were & cut them out………..
I stamped the weaving ivy onto the gloss card with Versafine, but didn’t heat emboss it. As it dried it faded in a few places & spread out slightly in others, which I liked. I also added a little more Sparkle Medium to the bare areas.
Time to put the card together. I glued the separate tops of the mushrooms to the base card with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue & matted & layered the gloss card onto a pale green piece of core’dinations & then black card.
The side panel is the same with a torn piece of vellum on top & I used the Chartreuse SM through the TCW stencil to add interest………….
Here you can see the shine from the Silkies & the Chartreuse sparkle…………
Thanks for looking, have a great week & see you next Monday.
Kirsten
