Good morning crafters, I hope you all had a nice weekend.I've got another of my
Card-io Christmas cards & a step by step to show you today.
I said in last week's blog post that I am not good at scene building, but Card-io stamps actually make it very easy to create a scene. I just try to remember two things; create shadows to 'ground' images in the foreground & the further away an object is, the smaller it will look.
I began by stamping, with Jet Black Stazon ink, the mountain range from Christmas Scenery 1 onto a piece of 5.5 x 5.5" white Super Smooth card....................
I stamped the mountain again onto a piece of Mask-it, cut it out & stuck it over one on the Super Smooth. Then I applied Squeezed Lemonade & Ripe Persimmon Distress inks through a circle I'd die cut from scrap card........
I had a fair idea of how I wanted the finished card to look & knew I wanted to frame the image, so at this stage I cut a square from a piece of copy paper & used the resulting frame to guide where I would put the rest of the images............
I stamped the Lavinia Stamps Birds & created some hills using
Black Soot Distress ink............
I applied Black Soot DI - very lightly & only using the ink that was already on the blending foam - through the smaller tree of the Imagination Crafts' Fir Trees stencil to use as a reference point.............
Added stamping from the Christmas Scenery 1 &
Christmas Scenery 2 Card-io stamp sets, used a grey watercolour pencil to apply shadows & blended a little Stormy Sky & Tumbled Glass over the top of the card for the sky...........
Replaced the Fir Trees stencil & applied silver Sparkle Medium through it..........
When the Sparkle Medium was dry, I used silver mirri & black card for matting & layering onto a
7 x 7" white card blank & die cut the frame from a piece of Core'dinations card..........
Thank you for visiting the blog today. If you're inspired to create your own Christmas scene, remember you can enter two projects into the blog challenge - if you use Card-io stamps you will get a second entry.
I will be back next week. take care & happy crafting.
Kirsten
