Spectrum Aqua and Woodware You Make Me Happy

Morning all,

Today I'm doing a little step by step for a simple clock.
and is watercoloured with Spectrum Aqua pens, Floral set.
So to start I used a piece of Watercolour card and stamped using
Ensure the ink is dry before you start to watercolour.

Nest I used my blending mat and the following coloured pens,
Begonia for the heart, Jasmine and Sunflower for both suns, Bud Green for the leaves and grass,
Jasmine and Leaf Green for the birds and soil and Wild Flower for the flower petals with Sunflower for the flower centers.
The only colour this set doesn't have is blue so I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to watercolour with.
You can mix the Aqua pen colours together but as blue is a primary colour it cannot be mixed.
To watercolour with the pens I swiped a little colour onto my blending mat
and in a seperate area I spritzed water.
I could then use the colours as dark or pale as I wanted with the amount of water I added, I used a fine paint brush to colour with.
The distress ink was used in the same way.

Now for the sentiment area, I punched a circle using a post it note.
I could then colour the sun in the center using the negative.

By  replacing the circle positive over the yellow sun I could add the blue around it.

I then cut the three main sections out.

Next I cut a white piece of card 11cm in length by 10.5cm wide and mounted this onto a black piece of card 12cm x 11.5cm.

By measuring the center point of the two joined pieces of card I could then punch a center hole for my clock movement to fit through.
The three stamped and coloured cut out sections have been mounted using foam pads.
I used a short spindle movement this is sufficient for this clock and gives enough room for the hands not to be obstructed by the mounted pieces.
The main digits of the clock I have represented using some dew drops from my craft stash.

I really hope this isnpires you to have a go at clock making.
Thanks for reading today, enjoy the rest of your week.
