Spectrum Aqua Pens and the Bokeh Effect

 
Good morning, happy Monday. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. No doubt many of you will have seen the Bokeh technique on many projects recently. It looks so effective & I wanted to have a go. I tried it on a scrap piece of watercolour card & as often happens, I liked the result so much I had to use it on a card. I used colours from the Floral set of Spectrum Aqua pens & the
 Blossom Bunch stamp from Stampendous.

 
 
I scribbled Marigold & Jasmine pens onto a blending mat, spritzed them with water & dabbed the colours randomly onto the watercolour card & let it dry.........

 
 
Used a piece of Cut & Dry foam to apply white Versacolor ink through the
 Imagination Crafts Bubble stencil. Left it to dry for a little while, replaced the stencil & applied more ink. I repeated this a few times to build up the white.............

 
 
Stamped the Blossom Bunch stamp with Grape Versacolor, applied Clear Gloss embossing powder & heat set.......


 
 
Began colouring with Heather Spectrum Aqua, but the white ink reacted against the pens & the result was a very different colour..........
 



 
 
So I stamped onto another piece of card, coloured the flowers with Heather & Orchid SA pens, cut out the flowers & adhered them to the main image..........

 
 
I wanted to continue the circles theme behind the tag shape I'd cut, so I used a piece of patterned paper from the Joy Crafts Vintage paper bloc, punched out some circles from another scrap of watercolour card - also coloured with Jasmine & Marigold SA pens, as were the card candi - and added some dots & scribbles with a black fine line pen............

 
 
I added gold liquid pearls to the centre of the flowers & a final embellishment of a mini hinge clip & a length of seam binding ribbon. The sentiment is from the
