Luxurious Layers

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here.  This post should have been written over the weekend, but what with computer glitches, camera glitches & rather a lot of medals for Team GB at the Olympics, it didn’t happen.  I hope you’ve seen Lisa’s posts, where she has shown her projects for the Craftwork Cards stand at Summer CHA in Chicago.  If you haven’t, you’ll find them HERE.  The heart-shaped box is especially beautiful.

Today, I’d like to show you both projects from last Friday’s class in Maidstone.  As you can see, the card is very luxurious & perfect for a very special someone.  There were twenty separate elements to this card & what was great was that some of us used them all & some saved a few pieces for other projects, so that every card was individual.  This is my card & yes, I used everything.

Lots of die cuts on this card, including the intricate & beautiful butterflies.  I layered my two together, edged them with Antique Linen distress ink & then a glitter pen to add a subtle shimmer.  I loved the self-effect ribbon & the large, pearl brad was perfect for the centre of the bow.

Our second project was this cute little tag, to which we added the die cut flowers.  The rose is four pieces of patterned & Core’dinations papers, cut & layered together.  The larger of the two circular flowers at the bottom somehow ended up slightly triangular in shape.  They were glued in place with silicon glue & glitter was liberally sprinkled all over them.
