A little upcycling with Imagination Crafts.....

Good morning lovelies,

Well I had a fantastic holiday and was totally refreshed until I came home and then......
Well my feet have not touched the floor since, what with Hochanda shows with Imagination Crafts last week and my Event Day looming up very quickly on Saturday 23rd July. It is shaping up to be a fantastic creative fun day for everyone with lots of demos, techniques, great crafting goodies to purchase and the usual homemade Savouries, cakes and Refreshments....

During the event day, there will be one-hour workshops, taught by Jenny Mayes of Hobby Art,  Sue Baker of Imagination Crafts and Georgina Sweetenham of Designs by Georgina.

Places for each workshop will be £6, are limited to twelve people & must be booked and payed for in advance. We will have photos of the workshops' projects soon. To book your place telephone Lisa on 01622 675078, or email; lisabaker1@btinternet.com.

Extravaganza Day 2016

I also have three hours with my lovely soul mate Sue Baker from imagination Crafts on Hochanda on Tuesday 19th July at 10am, 1pm and 5pm and we will be bringing you some fantastic products, not to miss bargains with great demonstrations, so tune in if you can........

So on that note..... I have not had a lot of extra time on my hands to play lately, so I thought that I would show you a few up cycled makes that I have made recently for Hochanda Shows, using Imagination Crafts products.......

All of the makes below are mainly showcasing the gorgeous Imagination Crafts Rice Papers, I really love playing with these and thinking what else I can add them on to, or what else I can get my hands on to upcycle!!......

The first makes below are a set of bottles that I made....
I got them initially from a charity shop, I painted them with chalk paint and added rice paper using decoupage glue and then edged them with alchemy wax before putting some twine around the necks of the bottles and adding charms. I also added some splashes of starlights watered down with a paint brush.....

The second make was a mannequin that I had in my stash, like you do!
I decided that I would like to create a skirt on this so I used some silk flower petals and traced their shape on to some cardstock and then applied rice paper to them and cut out the shape and layered them up until I was happy. I also used some lace flowers and die cut some rice paper ones too to add some final embellishment and detail to it........

So for the next makes I upcycled some silk flowers as I was a florist for 14 years and I have a real love for flowers, so I wanted to do something a little different.....
I turned this....

In to these.....

I took the head of the flower apart and made some templates from the petals and then replaced some of the sil ones with rice paper adhered to card ......

I then added some finishing touches with a little sparkle using Sparkle medium and applying it with my finger.....

Well I think that is all from me for now, I hope that it has inspired you to grab something and have a go at changing it. It saves us getting bored with everyday items around us and can be great fun too....

Have a great week

Hugs Lisa B xx
