Starlights Black Forest

Hi there crafters, I hope you're all ok, it's been a very busy week for me so this is a nice quick card.

The basic background of this card was inspired by a Sue Wilson blog, but I put my own spin on it and decided to go for a black look.

Here are some of the elements

I cut my Sue Wilson Winter Trees (sorry not on the website at the moment, but keep checking back)and painted them using the Imagination Crafts Starlight Black paint, I placed a small amount, about the size of the small finger nail onto a tile and added just a couple of tiny drops of water, I could see the Gilding Flakes float to the top, I used my paintbrush to mix it all together and started to paint all the Winter Trees.  I left them to one side to dry whilst I prepared the background card.

I took a 7" x 7" white card and matted it with black card, then cut a Super Smooth white matt that would be decorated.  I cut a frame from one of the Noble sets but it can be easily done with any square die cuts or by hand :o)

I cut a small piece of white card and covered it with a double sided adhesive sheet, peeled off the backing and sprinkled the whole thing with glitter.  I then cut into the bottom of the card randomly to create a hilly scene.  I placed the glittered card onto the white card and lined up the frame and put a pencil mark where the glitter card would start and finish to make sure it was in the centre of the card.  I then stuck it down with Cosmic Shimmer Dry's Clear Glue.  I used mounting foam on the back of the frame then placed over the glitter card.

Once the trees were dry I glued two of the larger trees on the left side of the frame one behind the other, another tall tree on the right side of the frame and then placed the three smaller tree randomly in the background placing the smallest at the back so to create a little depth to the card.

I stamped a Christmas Sentiment onto a banner and bent it slightly before sticking it onto the card, then finished off with some gems in each corner.

Here's a close up and the card again:

Hope you're enjoying using the Starlights, I certainly am now I know how to use them properly, I love using them neat or mixed with water :o)

Take care all and see you next week
Love Jan -x-
