Hello, Kirsten here with my regular Tuesday post.
I want to show you some very simple cards I made using Adirondack inks & four stencils:
I want to show you some very simple cards I made using Adirondack inks & four stencils:
- Sweet Pea by Glitz Craft
- Bubble by Imagination Crafts
- Diamonds by Imagination Crafts
- Daisy Silhouette by That Special Touch....
There are lots of photographs so I'll try to keep the words to a minimum. I applied the inks with small pieces of Cut & Dry Foam, it's easer to use for small areas than large blending tools.
Sunshine Yellow & Sunset Orange AIs through the Bubble stencil. Pool AI through the Sweetpea stencil:
Pool & Lettuce AIs through sections of the Sweetpea stencil. Torn pieces of paper & AIs used to make the ground:
Cool Peri AI through the diamonds stencil (Cool Peri is a great colour for subtle backgrounds), Sunset Orange for the flowers & butterflies of the Daisy Silhouette stencil & a fine line black pen for the stems & leaves:
Cool Peri through the Bubble stencil, Sunshine Yellow through the Diamonds stencil, Purple Twilight through the Daisy Silhouette stencil:
Cool Peri, Sunshine Yellow, Lettuce & Sunset Orange through the Bubble stencil. I stamped the flower with Seedless Preserves distress ink & then ruined the card with the black flourishes. Oh well, the base is an idea for another card:
Handy hint: Adirondack inks are very 'juicy', especially the bright colours. If you have too much on the cut & dry foam, wipe it off onto your craft sheet, or onto a scrap piece of paper. It's easier to add ink than to remove it.
To finish, a little tutorial with the final card.
Cut a circle from a piece of card & lay it on top of the card base.
Lay the stencil on top & secure to the craft sheet with stencil tape.
Apply the inks through the stencil with a piece of Cut & Dry foam.
I purposefully didn't blend the inks together, I wanted the circles to look textured.
I finished the card with a doodled line made with a blue water colour pen:
All the sentiments on these cards are from a Penny Black set of stamps. I think there were a few sets left after Friday's classes, I shall find out.
Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the stencils promotion giveaway, details on this post.
Until next time, happy crafting.
Kirsten
These are fabulous! I've not used stencils much but I love what you have done here. I think I'm going to have to have a go at this - thanks for the inspiration x
ReplyDeleteThese are all fab. So many different looks just be using different colours of inks through the stencils. Thanks for sharing.

These all look so clean and sharp. The inking in the circle makes it look domed in the photos. Very clever-an idea to try. Thank you. Jan
ReplyDeleteThe circles would be good for a man's card, which I struggle with. Thank you xx
