Blue Moon

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here with my regular Tuesday post. You all seem to be enjoying the Lavinia Stamps so far, which makes us happy. Thank you for all the kind comments & don’t forget to keep leaving them on this post & the ones that follow in the next few days.

The only idea I had for this project was that I wanted to die cut the moon from the
Blue Sky scenescape, which I did, completely forgetting I wanted to add stamping. There followed many minutes of lining everything up & putting masking tape on the back without messing up the alignment.  So today’s handy hint? Do your stamping BEFORE you die cut. Logical? Well yes, but this is me we’re talking about. Anyway….

Here’s the scenescape with the stamping added. I used Dusty Concord distress ink for the poppy pods & Chipped Sapphire DI for the Joy Craft Flower/ Leaf stamp, before stamping again with

I covered the moon in Versamark ink & heat set with Clear Sparkle embossing powder & did the same with Shaylee the fairy & her wings. I also cut Shaylee’s arm off, she just looked better without it this time. Sorry about that Shaylee.

I cut the frame from black card & added silver embossing & two pieces of torn black card for the opposite corners. I used an embossing folder for the lower piece & brushed some mica powders over it, spritzing with water to seal them. ‘Believe’ is silver embossed also. I finished with a few
adhesive pearls & white pen lines on the trunks & branches of the trees.
