Sun Sea and Sand

Hello all, well this is a coincidence, I've made a very similar card to Martina but using a different Hobby Art Stamp Set.

I've used the Hobby Art Summer Holiday set and water colour pencils to create this.

So started with the usual 7" x 7" white card and matted it with black, I don't like to waste card so I always cut out the middle of the card as it's going to be covered anyway :o)

The layer, which is the background, I stamped in the areas that are going to be visible with the Sea Anemone from the Hobby Art Shells Stamp set using Antique Linen Distress Ink from the Tim Holtz Mini set of 3 range and set aside.

I then cut four 7.5 x 7.5 cm pieces of black card and then four 7 x 7 cm pieces of White Super Smooth.

I stamped each white square with the chosen stamps then for the top two I wanted the have some sky and sea so made sure I stamped the beach huts first and created some little masks using Mask It cutting out the images and placing them over the each hut then stamping the shore line.  For the right hand image, blue hut, I drew in the shore line by hand.  For that same image I wanted the deck chair in front so stamped it onto a piece of white card and cut it out around the outside, I didn't worry about cutting out through the legs I laid the cut out image over the hut and just drew in the corner of the hut it covered, hope that makes sense.

For the little clouds I used the Creative Expressions Cloud Mask and placed it on some white scrap card and drew around the inside of three of them then cut the images out.  I actually used a nail file to neaten the edges but didn't take a photo of that, sorry.

Then used these as a mask to create a blue sky using Salty Ocean Distress Ink and a Smoothie.  The rest of the stamped images where coloured in using the Water Colour Pencils

I stamped the text and cut each word and distress each one using Salty Ocean again and backed them with black card and foam mounted to make them stand out a little more and the deck chair was also mounted with foam before putting in place.

Then laid the squares out on the card to check they were even before mounting and sticking on to the background card.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at the blog today, see you next week.
Love Jan -x-
