More Christmas Fairies

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here.  How's your week been so far?  Christmas shopping done & cards made?  No, me neither.  I did speak with a friend last night who, not only has her cards made, but has all her gifts wrapped as well!!  I tried to be jealous, but I'm too tired. :)

I finally got a few half decent photos of the wall-hanging I made last weekend, so that's what I'd like to show you today.

This is the largest topper in the set & initially, I didn't know what to do with it.  I thought about rocker cards & all sorts of things.  When I finally decided on the hanging & put it against the green core'dinations card, it did not look right.  I looked through some magazines for inspiration & saw projects that used doilies & remembered I have some in my stash.  Fortunately, I had one that was a perfect size & when I coloured it with Barn Door distress ink, it was perfect.

I gave the flowers an extra embellishment by wrapping two pieces of wire around a pencil, pierced holes through the topper & secured them on the back.

These images are so detailed & I wanted them to be seen fully, so I kept everything very simple.  On these sections, I embossed the core'dinations with a snowflake embossing folder & cut the toppers with the largest of the Spellbinders scallop die.

The final additions were adhesive pearls, Glamour Dust glitter, Glossy Accents & red ribbon bows.

Here's the finished piece.  Apologies for the rubbish photo, putting the hanging on the wall didn't work, so I put it on the floor.
