Glittery, Flittery Butterflies

Happy Monday, blog visitors.  Sorry it's been a while, Lisa was able to make some adjustments to the blog, but I've been busy with other stuff.

Firstly, some housekeeping.  I'm still waiting for ALIZABETHY, our blog candy winner, to contact me.  I'll wait until Sunday, April 29 & if she hasn't emailed me at isishestia{at}yahoo{dot}com I will pick another winner.

In the next few blog posts I'm going to be showcasing Lisa's samples using the new decoupage stamps from IMAGINATION

The idea is that you can use different sections of the image to build layers.  I saw these cards at Lisa's class a few weeks ago & they are beautiful.  She stamped the butterflies onto acetate & added the various glitters.  Aren't they blingtastic??

I'll be back in the next day or two with more samples to show you.  In the meantime, see all the stamps HERE and maybe one or two will end up in your basket.  If they do, don't forget to check out. :)

Until next time, keep crafting.

Kirsten

Fairies, Flowers & Flutterbyes

Hello blog visitors, happy Easter Monday to you.  Naturally, being a holiday, it's raining, but I am not complaining, we need all the rain we can get here in the South East of the UK.

Last Friday was Lisa's monthly class in Maidstone & we had lots of fun paper piecing, stamping, colouring, glittering & gluing.  Lisa has promised to send me photos very soon, so I can show you her gorgeous demo cards.  She has been creating lots of new cards & they are LOVELY.

Today's cards are, I think, perfect for this time of year.  They make me think of Spring flowers, the first butterflies & we all know there are fairies at the bottom of our gardens, don't we? :)  These fairies are by The Stamp Barn, but you can create cards like these with any of the myriad of fairy stamps that are available.  How about using these very cute stamps from Wild Rose Studio?  Colour them with a selection of Spectrum Noirs - not on the website yet, but available - for a very pretty result.

It has been a very long time since I made a shaker card, but these two have definitely inspired me.  They are showcasing some of the Marianne Design Creatables dies & there are new ones on the website right now, HERE.  I have the tree & the floral borders on my want list.

Lisa is doing her best to add new items to the website regularly, so please keep checking back.  If there is something you saw at the classes & don't see it on the website, please contact us.  Here are a few ways you can do this:
  1. Leave a comment on the blog
  2. Leave a comment on the Lisa B Designs FaceBook page
  3. Use the Contact Us button on the website
  4. Tweet me on Twitter @IsisArts
Finally for today, remember we are in the last few days of the BLOG CANDY draw.  Leave a comment on the blog candy post if you haven't already done so.  We will be announcing the winner on April 15 - not long to wait!

Thank you for visiting & to the ladies I spoke with at the class on Friday - thank you for your kind words.  Until next time,

Keep crafting!

Kirsten.

A little bit of new Inspiration....

Hi Everyone,

Ohh it's a bit nippy today, where has all that lovely sunshine gone?

Can I firstly say thank you to everyone that attended the N.E.C show at Birmingham and visited J& C.Creations stand and also Harrogate and Thetford as well.

I did promise that I would update J & C's blog and mine with the new card samples that I made at the shows, the week after the N.E.C show but I have a few gremlins in my computer!!!!!
So apologies for that but better late than never.

Many of you were very excited with the new Spellbinders Dies ranges as we were to play with them and I have posted some of your favourite cards below:

This first one is using the new Spellbinders Aster die for the main flower and also using the die as a stencil on white card and adding some Bundled Sage Distress Ink to make leaves for the background. I have also used a small leaf die from the new Damask Accents and the fabulous new Lattice Motifs die designed by Sue Wilson. The background was created from one of the new Spellbinders M.Bossabilities embossing folders.

Ohh I was having a lilac day!!
This next one is using the new Spellbinders Bitty Blossom die which is my favourite new die. I used another M.Bossibility folder for the background and a little stamping and embossing with a Heartfelt creations foliage stamp and the wording is a new Penny Black transparency wording set called 'Gratitude'.

OK so it's still lilac but I did bring a bit of black in to this one.
I used the new Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 3 for this one with the Aster cut up as background flowers and agin Sue Wilsons Lattice Motifs. Actually I am really liking this die too, oh so many new dies mmnnn!!

Now the black on the last card then gave me an idea and I was then thinking monochromatic (yes big word I hear you say) LOL with velum and Wow sparkle embossing powder?
Again I used the Aster die and a new Penny Black slapstick 'Fanciful' for the background
This was the results....

Not sure where the colour scheme came from for this one but I was all lilaced out!!
Again I have used the Sue Wilson Lattice Motifs this time with a Marianne Creatable die LRO211 it acually comes with a man's head as well. I also used the new Spellbinders Jar Labels for the tag and flower.

I look forward to seeing a lot of my ladies on Friday at my Class and if anyone fancy's popping in to the shop at the class hall at: Fant Hall, Fant Lane, Barming ME16 8NN it will be open from 2.30pm - 5.30pm and everyone is welcome.

Well that's all for now from me. I will get some of the other cards photographed when I get chance and get them posted.

Thanks again to Kirsten that is doing a fabulous job on the blog for me while I am away at shows.

Big Hugs to you all

Pretty Pennants

Good morning blog visitors, happy Monday to you.  I hope you had a great weekend.  Did anyone get any crafting done?  If ever you would like to show us what you've been creating using any of the products on Lisa's website, please post a link in the comments section.  You don't have to have a blog, you can post link to your FaceBook page, Flickr account, etc.  We would love to see what you've been up to.

Today, I have these lovely pennants to show you.  I think these would make a great alternative to a card for that special occasion.  These show off Lisa's great eye for colour & embellishments.  The green butterfly here & the rosette below are so pretty.

You can see where Lisa has folded over strips of lace behind the rosette to create flower petals.  It adds a very beautiful touch of luxury to the piece, as does that very fancy brad in the centre of the rosette.

Details like these give your projects not only great dimensionality, but 'touchability' too.  And a piece like this could be on display all year round.

Let us know what you think.  Thanks for visiting.

Coffee and Cream, Part Two

Happy April 1st blog visitors, I hope you are having a lovely weekend.  I cannot believe a week has passed since my last post.  There has been lots going on & Lisa will have lots of news for you very soon.

Today I want to show the rest of her coffee & cream cards.  I know I'm repeating myself, but I LOVE this colour combination.  Many people associate brown with grungy, distressed projects, but these cards show you that brown can be beautiful AND elegant.

Lisa has used dies from the Marianne Design Creatables range on these cards.  How gorgeous are the bird & birdcage??  I only have a few of this brand of dies at the moment, but I am very impressed by the quality of the die & the result you get.

Remember that if there is something you want & you don't see it on the ONLINE STORE, you can email Lisa & she will do her best to obtain it for you.

And before I go, remember the blog candy HERE.  There is still time to enter, before we choose the winner on April 15.  So spread the word.........

Thanks for stopping by, we'll be back soon.

Kirsten.
