Good morning my lovelies,
I hope that you are all well and I do hope that you have managed to catch a little bit of the summer sun that has been around for the last few days as I think we have a little bit more rain on the way....
So today I thought that I would show you the main samples that I designed for last Friday on which the class was based. It was a lovely day and so good to see so many lovely ladies and share some crafty time together. You all made fabulous creations whether it was a altered box or bottle or two rice paper cards....
The box below was created using Imagination Crafts Rice papers, Art-Cutz, Alchemy Waxes along with Deco Art Chalk Paints. This particular paper below that I used is a gorgeous vintage design. Rice papers are printed on to a mulberry paper that has a cotton and silk slub that runs through them and this makes them a lot more durable than normal de-coupage papers. This enables you to be able to cut designs from them away like paper or you can wet them with a paint brush and tear them to get a lovely fringed edge. You can apply them with De-coupage Glue to any surface...
I will be showing you a step by step tutorial of how you can create a box like this next Wednesday on this blog....
A closer look at the sides.....
I love decorating bottles and bringing them to life and will be showing you many more soon on the blog.
This is the rice paper that I used for the bottle below....
Pattern 200
I also added some torn script paper for extra detailing....
You can see the overlaying of the script on the lavender rice paper....
The bottle was finished off by adding some Alchemy Wax to the raised detail on the bottle....
For the ladies that chose to make the cards, the first was an acetate tuck in card using a beautiful rice paper with Paris and butterflies on it, unfortunately I could only get enough stock in to do the project as Imagination Crafts had no more, however I will stock up as soon as they have.....
The second card was made with one of my favourite Rice Papers and Art Stamps from Imagination Crafts and also using White Gold Starlights to stamp with in the background. The stamp was the Script Stamp and the paper was Pattern 115 ...
Adding a little Antique Linen Distress ink around the edges of the main feature on the card.
The little butterflies were just some of the remnants left over from the first card....
Well I hope that has given you a little inspiration with rice papers and gave you the urge to up cycle a bottle or box and give it a makeover. As I said I will be back next week with an in depth tutorial of how to do a box. I will actually be away in Sunny Spain from next week for two weeks as I need a well earned rest so will be scheduling my posts so that you don't miss out.....
Have a good week...
Big hugs
Lisa B xxx
P.S............
