Hi, it's Georgina with another crafty project to share with you. My project for today is a cute decoupage topper made using Elsie and Butterflies cling stamp by Wild Rose Studio, available from Lisa B. Design.
I started by stamping the Elsie image four times using a Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad onto smooth white card, as shown below. I then chose two co-ordinating patterned paper from Wild Rose Studio Blackberry Lane 6x6 paper pad. I used the papers later to mount the finished image onto. I chose the paper now so I knew what colour scheme I was work to when I coloured the image.
I coloured different section of the image to create four layers. I have numbered the different layers 1-4 so you can see each layer. I coloured each layer in, although parts of each layer will be covered up with another layer on top. I still think it's nice for every layer to be coloured.
Layer 1 (below) is the main background layer. I mounted the next three layers onto this one.
Layer 2 is the body and tail.
Layer 3 is the head and butterfly resting on the head.
Layer 4, top layer, is the paws and butterfly resting on the paws.
Once the layers were coloured I cut out layers 2-4. Left to right layers 2, 3 and 4. I attached the three layers onto layer 1 with foam pads.
I attached the decoupage image to two panels of patterned paper. I added Star Dust Stickles glitter glue to the butterflies wings and flowers. I also added Glossy Accents to the butterflies bodies. To finish I added small dots around the edge of the image with a fineliner.
Beautiful card. Thanks for the step by step photos Georgina, very helpful.
