Georgina Thursday

Morning all, happy Thursday.

Despite being on her Summer DT break, Georgina very kindly made some samples for the Lisa B Designs event day & we’re going to show them here in the coming weeks.

This card uses the Home Sweet Home set of stamps by The Artistic Stamper. Not only do the houses look great, I love how Georgina used the tiny flower from one of them as an embellishments for the corners of the image.

Thanks Georgina!

Hello all......

Morning all,

Apologies for not being around on the blog much lately, I have been so busy working on other projects and making samples for Create and Craft for Imagination Crafts and then this week working on my own class samples that it has left me little spare time to blog!!!

However Kirsten has done a fantastic job keeping you all well informed and up to date with everything, she is brilliant ;0)........xx.

Well it is that time of the month again and my class is on Friday 1st August, where did July go???

We are doing two very pretty cards this month.....
The theme is Butterflies and Flowers and we will be showcasing the Anna-Marie Designs spottie card...... one that is dry embossed and die cut and then we will be stipple foiling with Sparkle Medium and then the other one is stamped and paper pieced and also with stipple foiling on it too.

I look forward to seeing you all on Friday and remember if you are not attending the class, then you can still visit the shop at Fant Hall, Barming. ME16 8NN between the hours of 2.30pm and 9.30pm.

Don't forget to bring your loyalty cards and your cameras as there will be lots of inspiration as normal.

I haven't had chance to photograph anything yet, so I thought I would show you an old card that I made about two years ago that has the butterfly and flower theme.....

This card was made using Distress Inks, Frantage Embossing Powder and the lovely Penny Black Butterfly Stamp Soft Wings.......

A little closer look at the Frantage Flowers.......

Well that is all from me for now, I will be back next week with some more inspiration......

Big hugs Lisa B xx

Altered Letter Holder

Hello, here’s another of my samples for the event day.  I kept this very simple, just paint, stamping & heat embossing.
I painted the wood first with gesso, to seal it, then with Scallion Martha Stewart paint & finally some Summer Linen. I inked the edges with black Archival ink.

033

The stamping was done with Versacolor inks – Bamboo & Heliotrope. These inks won’t dry on acrylic paint, so you need to use clear embossing powder on top. I used a number of different stamps; Lavinia Stamps, Woodware, Card-io, Hobby Art, details below.

032

The little birds are a Hobby Art stamp. I stamped them onto tissue paper with black Stazon, coloured them on the reverse with felt tip pens & used Mod Podge to adhere the tissue to the box, sealing the image with Mod Podge too.

034

The sides were stamped with the same Versacolor inks as above, using more Lavinia Stamps & a Hobby Art flourish stamp. Again, all the stamps used are listed below.

033

Gesso      Scallion Summer Linen   Mini Flowers   Nesting     Decorative Backgrounds Stamp Set    Field Grass Poppy Pods     Weaving Ivy   Flutterby Garden     Versacolor Bamboo     Versacolor Heliotrope   WA01 Clear Gloss 160ml     Stazon Ink Pads

Just a reminder that we’re in the final week of the current blog challenge. If you would like to enter details are on the challenge page.

Thanks for looking, see you next time.

Event Day Projects

Happy Monday blog visitors, Kirsten here with a quick post to show you two projects I made for the event day.
First up, a pencil box, which I painted with Meadowlark Martha Stewart paint & stamped one of the Hobby Art background stamps in places with a permanent ink.

035

For the top I stamped one of the mini Woodware flowers with embossing ink onto gloss card, left it to dry thoroughly & blended distress inks on top – the dry embossing ink acts as a resist. I stamped a selection of flowers onto card coloured with distress inks, cut them out & glued them to the top of the box.

036

Next, a clipboard. I painted a border with MS Sea Lavender paint first, glued on a sheet of
Anna Marie Designs Cool Gray striped card, to which I added Hobby Art background stamps with permanent grey ink.

038

I stamped & cut out the Woodware flowers, (mini & Georgina), applied embossing ink onto Anna Marie Designs Aquamarine dottie card through the TCW Live Love Laugh stencil & heat set with embossing powder.

Altered Tray

Hello crafters, hope you enjoyed Lisa's demoes on the Imagination Crafts shows on Create & Craft yesterday.

I'd like to show you a little tray I altered for the event day. These wooden trays would be perfect for keeping keys in, or even a doll's tea set. I gave it a coat of gesso first, to seal the wood & provide a base for the paint. Then I painted the tray with a few coats of Martha Stewart Scallion acrylic paint.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps Field Grass stamp on the sides with embossing ink & heat set with WOW white embossing powder...........

On the handles I stamped the large butterfly from the Card-io Majestix Flutterby Garden stamp set with embossing ink & again, heat set with WOW white EP.

For the centre I cut a piece of white super smooth card to fit, stamped the Woodware Clear Magic 'Georgina' stamp & its smaller counterpart on to masking paper & cut them out. I then began stamping with Turquoise, Peony & Bamboo Versacolor inks, masking off parts of the flowers as I went.......

I filled some of the white areas with a stamps from the Card-io Collection Greenery 1 stamp set.......

I then used felt pens in a paler blue & pink around the inside edge of the flowers..........

I used a wet glue to adhere the stamped panel to the inside of the tray & covered it with a piece of acetate.............
