Sneak Peek Thursday
Evening all, I'm back with sneak peeks of another of my samples for Lisa's Maidstone class next week.
Did you see this morning's post about the new items on the website? If not, you can read it HERE.
I lost count of the number of layers of paint that I put on this piece. Apologies for the bad photos, it's not as pale as it looks. There are lots of different textures on this too.
This is a different section of the same piece. It will be nice to show you all the projects in their entirety, because then I can talk about them properly. :)
Just a few of the things I used on this piece.
I'm meeting Lisa tomorrow & will be taking my projects to show her. Fingers crossed she approves.
Regarding next week's class, I think all the places are booked, but if you're interested in attending, please email Lisa at enquiries@lisabdesigns.co.uk. She keeps a reserve list & will contact you if a space becomes available.
Hope you all have a great Friday, I'll be back over the weekend.
Kirsten.

Prepare to be Dazzled
Good morning,
Kirsten here with a quick post to tell you about some new items on the website, which will be very useful if you need to add some glitter & shine to your projects.
These are the new Dazzlers from Creative Expressions. They are available in eight different colours & are perfect for adding to the centre of a flower, or as an embellishment anywhere on your project.
Love the black ones, you can really see the sparkle. You can see all eight sets HERE.
Also new are a selection of gorgeous new toppers from Hobby House. This one is called 'My Little Garden' & is part of the Elisabeth Bell collection.
This one is 'Sailors Crew' from the Mo Manning collection.
This is 'Bluebell Wood' from the Wee Suzi collection.
There is also the Kenny K collection, which has great toppers for boys' cards, such as this one 'Totally Awesome'.
Hobby House toppers are very detailed images of great quality, the sheets are A4 size with a variety of images on each sheet - the number of images per sheet depends on their size. Clicking on the pictures & links above will take you to the individual collections, or you can find them all HERE.
Sue Bearhouse has entered her milk carton project into the challenge. You can see it HERE & find the details on how you can enter. The challenge doesn't end until March 31 at 10pm, so there's still time.
I hope to be back later with another sneak peek of one of my class samples. Until then, have a lovely Thursday.
Kirsten.

Sneak Peek Tuesday
Good morning blog visitors, Kirsten here with a very quick post to show you a few more glimpses of my samples for next week's class in Maidstone.
This one has lots of the Fran'tage embossing powder from Stampendous on it, which gives it a nice mix of rough & smooth textures.
If you want to make a VERY simple flower, or you haven't got a flower die, this has to be the easiest way of making one. Cut at least three circle shapes & attach them with a brad. Then fold & crumple each layer firmly over the brad before unwrapping. On some of the flowers on these samples, I've cut into the circles before crumpling them, it gives a slightly different look.
That's it for today. Lisa has returned, exhausted, from Birmingham. We're hoping to catch up this week.
Don't forget to keep checking the What's New section on the website & if you're crafting for Easter, why not enter the blog challenge? It runs until 10pm on March 31, which coincidentally, is Easter Sunday.
Until next time, happy crafting.

Sneak Peek Friday
Evening all, Kirsten here. Yet again the weather is rubbish & the forecast is for snow tonight & tomorrow. I said on Twitter this morning that Mother nature is relaxing on a beach somewhere, drinking margaritas & laughing at us. However, it is Friday & I hope that despite the weather you all have a lovely weekend.
I'd like to show you two close-up photos of another of my samples for Lisa’s April class – only two weeks away!
The stamps on this project are from Kanban & the little bird is from Craftwork Cards. Lisa will have the patterned, double-sided papers for sale on April 5 & I think you’re going to love them. To add extra texture to this, I mixed copper acrylic paint with modelling paste & put it through a stencil here & there.
Lisa is at the Hobbycrafts show this weekend at the NEC in Birmingham, demonstrating for J & C Creations. Good luck to those hoping to attend the show today & over the weekend, the weather forecast is not great. A friend who is not very far from Birmingham is actually snowed in at the moment.
Mags entered her lovely card into the challenge last night. I'm glad I chose orange & yellow as the theme. They’re not colours I use often, but seeing the entries so far is definitely inspiring me.
That’s all for now. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the ‘What’s New’ section of the website, you never know when something will be added.
Until next time, happy crafting.

J and C Creations Stand at HobbyCrafts
Good morning, Kirsten here. I’ve just had these photos from Lisa & thought I’d share them with you straightaway. They’re of the gorgeous samples, many of them made by Lisa herself, and the goodies for sale on the J & C Creations stand at the HobbyCrafts show at the NEC in Birmingham, right now.
Lisa asked me to tell everyone that while there has been a little snow, it’s nowhere as bad as was forecast & the roads are clear. So if you were thinking of going to the NEC today, go! Apparently, it’s very quiet at the moment, so you’ll have plenty of room to move around & see everything.
You should be able to make these photos larger, just be clicking on them. The samples look gorgeous.
Probably a good thing I’m not there, I’d be bankrupt in not time…….

Monday, Monday
Well, it is for another few hours. Kirsten here, hope everyone is well. Lisa’s April class is fast approaching & I have finally taken some photos of my samples, so I will be sharing some sneak peeks of them in the next few posts.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve lost count of the number of times I start out with a set idea & end up with something completely different. This is a case in point. It is NOTHING like how I planned, but I think it turned out ok.
I like the flower, it’s just die cut brown paper. It got very stiff, but still pliable, when I heat set the Stampendous embossing powder & now it’s lovely & crinkly.
If you haven’t yet seen the new products from Wild Rose Studio on the website, they’re HERE. Some very pretty paper packs & the stamps are cute.
Sarah was our second entry into the blog challenge. She’s never entered a challenge, so we’re delighted she made our blog her first. I can't believe that the end of March is in sight, but there's still plenty of time for you to enter the challenge.
Thanks for visiting the blog & a very warm welcome to our new followers. I’ll be back soon, so until then, happy crafting.

A Third Sneak Peek
Good evening! A very quick post to share another if Lisa’s samples for her April class. Again, nothing I can tell you about this project, except that the metal embellishments are HERE on the website.
There are some new items from Wild Rose Studio on the website, including stamps, gorgeous paper packs &printed panels. Click on the What's New section to see them all.
Lisa is demonstrating for J & C Creations at the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate this weekend, so if you’re going to be there, keep a look out for her & say hello.
Until next time, take care & have a lovely weekend.

Simple Stamped Backgrounds
Greetings blog visitors, a frozen-to-the-bone Kirsten here. I hope you’ve had a great Monday, despite the rubbish weather. I want to take a few minutes to show you two quick cards I made last night. I took a break from the class samples, (more sneak peeks to come….), to make these, because believe it or not, they were inspired by my duvet cover…
I chose two shaped card blanks from Craftwork Cards & stamped the first of the images with Memento’s London Fog ink. (The plan was to take step-by-step photos, but of course I forgot after this).
Next, stamp more images with coloured ink, in this case Mustard Seed distress ink. Then stamp/over stamp with black ink, (Archival).
Finally, I blended Antique Linen & Old Paper distress inks over the images, trying to make it patchy, with small areas of white showing.
I stamped the flower head & butterfly on to smooth white card with the relevant distress inks – Spiced Marmalade & Mustard Seed – covered with clear embossing powder & heat set. The yellow card got a grey ribbon, the orange one a black ribbon, then large pearl brads & some adhesive pearls to finish.
I chose these colours because they go this month's challenge theme & I think they’re a big improvement on the pathetic effort I threw together last week.
Thanks for visiting the blog today. Back soon…..
Kirsten.

Another Sneak Peek
Happy Saturday, blog visitors, Kirsten here. I’m still suffering with this horrible lurgy. Been to the doctors & got assorted medications. They better start working soon. A very brief post tonight to show you a tiny glimpse of another of Lisa’s samples for the April classes.
This is one of the wooden boxes that attendees at the April classes will be altering & if you like the look of these papers, they will be available to buy.
You can find all the information regarding Lisa's classes in Maidstone, Kent HERE. As far as I know, the afternoon class on April 5 is fully booked, but Lisa keeps a waiting list & she will contact you if a space comes up.
The mobile craft shop will be open from 2.30 in the afternoon to 9.30pm that day & you are very welcome to come along & shop to your heart's content.
That’s it from me for now. Tracy is our first entrant in the March challenge. You can see her lovely card & the details on how to enter HERE. The prize is a £20 voucher to spend at lisabdesigns.co.uk - not bad if you’re in the need of new stash.
Until next time, happy crafting.

Let The Sneak Peeks Commence!
Hello, good evening & welcome. Kirsten here, happy Wednesday to one & all. I’m still not very well, so before she left for Glasgow, Lisa sent me some photos of the samples she’s been making for her April class & gave me permission to start sharing tiny glimpses of them with you.
Because I haven’t seen these projects in real life, I can tell you nothing about them, except that these photos are obviously of the same piece & you can find the metal embellishments that Lisa used HERE.
How cute is that little bottle??
It’s going to be great to see this & the rest of Lisa’s samples on April 5th. I’m still working on mine. I keep changing my mind & starting over, but I’ve given myself a strict talking to & told myself I MUST make a decision & stick to it.
If anyone is going to Glasgow this weekend, Lisa will be demonstrating all manner of inky, vintagey loveliness for J & C Creations at Creative Stitches & Hobby Crafts show. J & C Creations are at stand B10, stop by & say hello.
A quick reminder before I go, about the March challenge. You can pick the theme, we just want you to include the colours orange & yellow – and shades thereof. If you use distress inks, you’ll know there are at least three shades in each colour to choose from, so you have plenty of scope.
I’ll be back with another sneak peek from Lisa soon. Until then, happy crafting.
