Coffee and Cream, Part One

Hello crafters, it's Friday again .  Where did the week go??  I hope it was a good one for all of you.

Today's cards are beautifully shabby chic.  I don't have any specific information about them I'm afraid.  Lisa was at the Harrogate show last week & now she's at the NEC, Birmingham, so we haven't been in contact.  I shall let her cards speak for themselves instead & if you have any questions please leave a comment.  I shall endeavour to edit this post later & add some details.

I like the colour combination on these cards & the bling on the flowers & swirls is lovely.

Until next time, keep crafting & don't forget to leave a comment on the blog candy post, HERE.

A little fresh inspiration from Glasgow S.E.C.C Show

Good Evening everyone,

Where has today gone? I was hoping to do this post this morning but the time has just run away today!!
Now I know it is rare for me to post on my blog nowadays but I have just done an update on J & C's blog and felt it only fair to do mine too, even though my brain is telling me to go to bed really!!!

Can I just say a huge thank you to Kirsten who is doing a great job in keeping you up to date with the cards and samples that I have been making and managing my blog for me, she is such a star!

It was my first time in Glasgow with Denise and Karen and I must say I was a little concerned that I may not understand the accent as I am not good with strong accents but what a lovely, polite bunch of people they were, I had a great time and understood 95% of what everyone said to me (LOL.)

Can I also say a huge thanks to Nadia that came and worked with us on the stand, what a lovely lady and such a pleasure to work with.

As promised to so many of the crafter's that took the time to watch me creating some of my cards using the brilliant 'Spellbinder dies' and 'Heartfelt Creations' matching stamp range and the new vintage embossing powders and 'Elements' range.

I have posted some of your favourites below.

This first card below seemed to be the favourite.

I used a 'Heartfelt Creation' script background stamp with a new butterfly 'Penny Black Slapstick' stamp. The border is a Tim Holts Sizzix border die. See what you think.....

Here's a little closer look at the the 'Elements' on the flowers and butterfly.....

Mmnnn teal, gold and Frayed Burlap, I love these colours and was inspired by the first card to make another in the same colour but of course different.

I used a new Penny Black wooden stamp for this one.....

A little closer.....

This card was using the 'Vintage Rose Pink' embossing powder and I used a 'Heartfelt Creations' book and music note stamp that teams with 'Spellbinders Labels Seven' and a matching Rose stamp and die.....

A close up on the book.....

This next one is classic colours cream and black and I used the 'Spellbinders and Heartfelt Creations' Daisy Patch matching die and stamp set and of course Antique Linen Ditress Ink.....

Here's a closer look at those daisies and a Spellbinder label die cut that I stamped my message on.....

A little softer with this one using Bundled Sage and Victorian Velvet 'Ditress Inks' and the 'Spellbinder Rose Creation Die and Foliage die'.....

A little closer look at the flowers and foliage....

And lastly a little black and pink number using the 'Spellbinders Carnation Creation die'.....

The flowers close up.....

Well that's about all from me now.
I'd better get off to bed and get some rest, another busy day tomorrow!!!

Happy Crafting

Floral Fancies

Hello crafters, it's Tuesday & today I have some of Lisa's floral cards to show you, including two of her Christmas cards - not so strange in March, given that many of us start making our Christmas cards in February, or don't even stop from the previous Christmas! :)

On these first three cards, Lisa has used a border die & the 'Spiral Blossom One' die, both from Spellbinders.  The other flowers & leaves are from the 'Flowers, Branches & Leaves' set of sizzlits dies from Sizzix.  I love how dimensional these flowers are.  The blue card was coloured with Tumbled Glass DI & the background of the easel card is Bundled Sage DI.

There are Distress inks on the fourth card too, this time Victorian Velvet & Bundled Sage.  The stamps are from Canadian company The Stamp BarnThe diecut swirls are lovely accents.

Thank you for looking.  Until next time,

Happy crafting,

Kirsten

In The Meantime.....

In between dashing from one trade show & exhibition to another, Lisa sent me pictures of cards that she made in recent months for various projects & demonstrations.  I don't have all the details, as regards exact papers, inks etc., but I'm sure may of you will recognise what she has used.  If you have a particular question, please contact me & I will do my best to get you the answer.

Today's cards showcase Spellbinders Nestabilities, Prima flowers & images from Lyndsay Mason Design Stamps.  In Lisa's classes in May & June we will working with Lavina Stamps& creating backgrounds Lavinia style with a brayer and blending tools, definitely two workshops to look forward to.

I love the beautiful shimmer & shine Lisa has given these cards.  I will have to ask her, but I think she has used WOW embossing powders.

I hope you like these cards, I'll be back with more to show you during the week.

Happy crafting,

Kirsten.

New Beginnings

Greetings crafters. My name is Kirsten & from today I shall be writing Lisa's blog posts & sharing her work & news with you all. Her new website goes live very soon & this, together with her demonstrating & teaching responsibilities, means that Lisa doesn't have the time she would like to devote to her blog. She asked me if I could help & I was delighted to accept.

I've been crafting for a few years, mainly card making & now I'm branching out into mixed media work. I'm a huge art fan & find inspiration from every gallery & museum I visit. I have my own blog, where you can see my work; http://isisimaginings.blogspot.com & I will be posting projects here too, using the products Lisa will be stocking in her online store.

Lisa & I met in 2011. Quite by chance I saw a poster for a crafting extravaganza she was holding in Maidstone, Kent & I went along. It was a very enjoyable day & I began attending her monthly classes from then on. Lisa is a great teacher; fun, inspirational, encouraging & passionate about what she does. I'm very excited for her new venture & I shall be doing my bit to help make it a big success.

There will be lots happening in the coming months. To celebrate the launch of www.lisabdesigns there will be a blog candy giveaway. We will have regular challenges & sketches, with the occasional prize. I will keep you updated about new products & what Lisa will be teaching at her classes. The poster for the 2012 Extravaganza is above & it's going to be a very exciting day, so put the date in your diary. I'll give you more information in the months to come.

I will be back very soon with news of the website launch & information on how to enter to win the blog candy. Until then, carry on crafting.

Kirsten
