Starlights Poinsettia Card

Good morning, Kirsten here. I hope everyone had a great weekend. How are the Christmas preparations coming along? I'm betting you're all doing a lot better than I am. :) My card today is my final Starlights project for November. I used:
Sue Wilson Holly Sprays cutting dies
Leane Creatief Multi Flower Die 004& pine leaves cutting dies
Peacock Pleasure embossing folder from Couture Creations

I mixed Blue & Silver Starlights, painted it onto white Super Smooth, then die cut the poinsettia layers. The foliage was cut from pieces of white card painted with Silver & Green, except for the holly leaves, which I cut from white card, then painted the berries blue...............

I painted two squares of Super Smooth with Blue Starlights, dry embossed one with the Couture Creations embossing folder, then painted the raised areas with Silver Starlights.

I used Black Starlite Brilliance ink to stamp the Hobby Art Wildflowers images directly onto a 7x7 card blank, then matted & layered the layers of blue, white & black card..........

Heart Wall Hanging

Good morning crafters, Kirsten here, I hope you had a fantastic weekend. It was cetainly a cold one, looks like winter has finally arrived. My Starlights project for this week is three very quick & easy ones..............

I painted three of the small MDF hearts with White Gold & Rich Gold Starlights & connected them with cherry red gingham ribbon adhered to the back. I covered the ribbon with gold mirri card.

I painted pieces of white Super Smooth card with Red, Green & Menthol Starlights, then used the Leane Creatief Flower & Holly & Pine Leaves cutting dies to die cut the poinsettias & foliage.........

I used a Sizzix alphabet die set from my stash to cut pieces of double-sided adhesive & after adhering the letters to the hearts, I peeled off the top layer & applied Fran-tage Gold Lux mica & glitter mix on top. I pressed the mica & glitter firmly on to the adhesive, then brushed off the excess......

I had some spare hearts, so I decorated them too. This one I painted with Menthol Starlights, applied Pearlescent Dimension paste through the Imagination Crafts Holly Corner stencil & embellished with the Leane Creatief poinsettia & foliage cutting dies.............

This one I painted with Silver Starlights, added strips of double-sided tape, then added Fran-tage Silver Lux mica & glitter mix on top.

I die cut the Sue Wilson Winter Trees & painted the smallest three with Dylusions paint - Fresh Lime, Bubblegum Pink & Vibrant Turquoise, adding dots of Silver Starlights with an embossing tool............

 6-30 to 9.30pm.

The cost of the class is £18. This includes your projects & a full buffet, supplied by Lisa. There'll be party games, spot prizes & the Christmas raffle winning ticket will be drawn.

If you would like to join us, please contact Lisa - lisabaker1@btinternet.com or 01622 675078 - to book your place. You can also message the Lisa B Designs Facebook page.

Starlights Poinsettia

Hi there crafters, well it's Friday once again so time for some Starlights and texture paste :o)

I started with a 7" x 7" card and matted with black card then some red glitter card I had in my stash, I then cut another matt in black to use for embellishing.

I painted the cut out Poinsettia Die the using Red Starlight Paint and a little water and set them dry.

I placed the black card onto my craft mat and taped it down with Stencil Tape, starting with the top, then side and bottom.  I ensured I left a 1cm border all around for me to add some extra sparkle, I'll explain later.

I then took the new Dutch Doobadoo  Wavy Stripes stencil and taped that into the centre of the card, you can see through the stencil where the border is going to be.  Because the card is square a little of the stencil overlaps at the bottom.

I then used the Transparent Relief Paste and a little of the Black Starlights

and mixed them together thoroughly before using the Sweet Poppy Spreader to drag it down the stencil, removing all the tape very carefully and leaving to thoroughly dry.

Once it was all dry, I taped some 1cm double sided tape around all four sides and dipped them in black glitter and finished the card with the built up Poinsettia, some pines leaves from the Holly Leaves & Pine Branches Die Set (Out of stock at the moment, but email Lisa and she will try and get it for you), a Diamond Gem and finished with some Cranberry and Ivory bakers twine tied in a triple bow.

The sentiment is from the Card-io Christmas Sentiment Set, which I embossed using Versafine Black Onyx and Wow Clear powder.

Here's a close up and the card again.

Below is another version in white, but this time I used  White Relief Paste mixed with a little of the Silver Starlights Paint, and also painted the Poinsettia using the Black mixed with a little of the silver and embellished with the lovely Holly Sprays Die and another Card-io Christmas Sentiment

Thanks for dropping by and see you again very soon.
Love Jan -x-
