Inka Gold Cards

Good morning, happy Friday. Jan is on holidays this week, so I'm standing in for her. I've got two quick & easy Inka Gold cards to show you today..............

I painted a square of white Super Smooth card with Jade Inka Gold, dry embossed it & applied Turquoise Inka Gold to the raised areas with my finger, then I cut the square into three pieces.

I covered another piece of card with embossing ink, applied Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing powder & heat set. Then I used the
Stampendous Butterflies die cut set to cut the large butterfly.

I made up the card, using layers of black card & Core'dinations card & finished with some gems & a sentiments from the Stampendous Life Words stamp set..........

The second card is another triple panel, this time painting rows of colour directly onto white card. I applied Sweet Poppy white dimension paste through the Imagination Crafts Diamonds stencil on top & when the paste was dry, I replaced the stencil & applied Brown Gold Inka Gold on top. I mixed black gesso with a little water for the splatters.

I finished the card with some die cut letters & a punched out heart..........

Inka Gold Wall Hanging......

Good morning all, happy Wednesday.

Well, what can I say......but......a HUGE thank you to everyone that came and supported my Craft Event at the weekend and made it a roaring success. I really do appreciate all your support and loyalty that you give to me and it was so lovely to hear all your lovely comments and emails about the event day since.

As you all know a lot of effort and organisation goes in to the annual event day but I could not do it without my lovely friend Kirsten who keeps me sane!....... and all the team, Jan, Rosemary, Kate, Jo, Julie E, and also help from Donna, Julie H, Mavis, Angela and Carole.

Also a big personal Thank You to this years demonstrators, my great crafting buddies Jenny from Hobby Art and Karen Clare and also my soul sister Sue Baker and bruv Harvey Baker from Imagination Crafts, so blown away to have you there.

The day was fabulous and went so quickly and we will be posting many more pictures from the day on Facebook soon, if you missed the last ones click on this post HERE......

My Inka Gold project for this week is a sample that I made for the last class using a cardboard plaque I had in my stash......

I covered it with various pieces of embossed card, overlapping some of them to add texture to it. I die cut some Tim Holtz' Poinsettias from grunge board and stuck the layers of flowers to the plaque and added grey board buttons to the centre of them. I also die cut and embossed two Tim Holtz Butterflies, I wanted the butterfly to overhang the plaque so attached the first layer of it at the bottom. I also added some large adhesive pearls to the piece.... I then painted black gesso over the whole
thing......

I then started to add Inka Gold to the piece using my finger, until I was happy with it....

Then I buffed it up with some dry kitchen towel to make it shine....

I added a couple of metal embellishments, scissors to the centre of the butterfly, a lock and a believe charm......

A closer look at the details.....

Well, that is all from me for now, thanks for popping by to take a peek.
Have a great week and I will be back next week with more makes.......

Big hugs

Inka Gold Mirror

**Please note: the website is still down. Items will be updated in the coming days. Thank you for your patience.**

Good morning, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I'm still recovering from Saturday's Extravaganza Day.... My Inka Gold project today is a mirror........

I applied some Sweet Poppy Pearl Dimension Paste - you can use any texture paste you wish. Pearl is what I had to hand - through the Imagination Crafts' Honeycomb stencil & adhered the words, using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue. Then I experimented with the layout of assorted embellishments......

(Square post-its will protect the mirror from paint)

When I was happy with the layout, I glued everything down securely & painted the entire piece with DecoArt white gesso.............

To get an idea of how the colours would look, I used a baby wipe to apply Turquoise, Magenta & Jade Inka Gold. The paints are water-based, so I could remove & reapply them until I was happy................

I added white accents by applying Sweet Poppy white dimension paste through the Imagination Crafts' Leaf Swirl stencil & also used white gesso with a bottle cap & a detail stamp from the Pimpernel Collage stamp set from Imagination Crafts.............

I applied Brown Gold & Gold Inka Golds to the letters & highlighted the embellishments with Hydrangea & more Turquoise..............

The finished mirror..............
